DIGITAL AIR GUN - A marine air gun generates an acoustic signal in water, for example, during a marine seismic survey. The marine air gun includes digital electronic circuitry. The digital electronic circuitry may control an actuator of the marine air gun, digitize and store data from sensors located on or near the marine air gun, send and/or receive digital communications, store and/or output electrical energy, and/or perform other functions. A marine seismic source system that includes multiple air gun clusters may have a separate digital communication link between a command center and each air gun cluster. Each communication link may provide power and digital communication between the command center and one of the air gun clusters. | 12-02-2010

Disposable processing bag with alignment feature - The present invention is an alignment device for a bag containing one or more ports wherein the alignment device is attached to either the one or more ports such as by wire ties, clamps or cable ties or to the bag adjacent the one or more ports via adhesives or welding or molding such as overmolding. The plate has either an indicator or a unique outer edge shape that is designed to fit into a corresponding unique opening in a bag holder such as a carboy or tote to ensure proper alignment of the bag and its port(s) in the holder. In one embodiment the plate formed of plastic, metal, wood or composite material has a series of holes equal to and in alignment with the one or more ports of the bag and the port(s) are extended through the holes of the plate and the plate is attached to the bag by retainers on the port(s) below the plate. Such retainers can be plastic cable ties, wire ties, tube clamps and the like. Alternatively, the plate may be fitted over the port(s) and attached to the bag such as by thermal bonding or welding or overmolded to the bag or the bag is formed and molded to the plate. The plate may have any unique design that ensures that the alignment of the bag in the holder is correct and cannot be reversed or incorrectly aligned. Such designs use a plate that is affixed to the bag or its port(s) in such a way that it cannot be realigned or moved out of register. Such designs include but are not limited to graphic indicators and unique shapes. | 12-18-2008
Apparatus to retain and position tubing of media bags - An apparatus to retain and position tubing of media bags with a bottom gate made of a single piece, with features to hold and retain media bag tubing, a recessed structure where the bottom gate is positioned when installed that places the top of the gate flush with the inside surface of the media bag holder, and locking tabs on the inside surface of the media bag holder that prevent the bottom gate from lifting and allow it to be installed in only the correct orientation. | 03-18-2010

Method And System Of Executing Stack-based Memory Reference Code - A method and system of executing stack-based memory reference code. At least some of the illustrated embodiments are methods comprising waking a computer system from a reduced power operational state in which a memory controller loses at least some configuration information, executing memory reference code that utilizes a stack (wherein the memory reference code configures the main memory controller), and passing control of the computer system to an operating system. The time between executing a first instruction after waking the computer system and passing control to the operating system takes less than 200 milliseconds. | 11-25-2010

METHODS AND SYSTEMS TO SELECTIVELY SCRUB A SYSTEM MEMORY - A computer system is provided, the computer system having a processor and a system memory coupled to the processor. The computer system also includes a Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) in communication with the processor. The BIOS selectively scrubs the system memory during a shutdown process of the computer system. | 09-25-2008
Systems And Methods Of Secure BIOS Update - Systems and methods of securely updating BIOS are disclosed. One such system comprises a reprogrammable memory, a first and a second register, and comparison logic. The reprogrammable memory comprises a first portion and a protect input. The protect input is configured to disallow writes to at least the first portion when the memory protect input is at a first levels, and to allow writes to at least the first portion when the protect input is at a second level. The comparison logic is configured to drive a comparison output to a third level responsive to the first and second registers having equal values, and to drive the comparison output to a fourth level responsive to the first and second registers having different values. The comparison output is electrically coupled to the memory protect input. | 03-25-2010
MANAGING REQUESTS OF OPERATING SYSTEMS EXECUTING IN VIRTUAL MACHINES - A coordinator in a computer system receives a request from one of a plurality of operating systems (that coexist in the computer system) to invoke a service of a management routine in the computer system. The plurality of operating systems execute in respective virtual machines of the computer system. The coordinator processes the received request to invoke the service of the management routine to prevent a conflict from occurring with respect to at least another one of the plurality of operating systems. | 08-05-2010
Controller - A first controller can provide system state information and a second controller can receive the system state information. The second controller can be programmed to control the state of a component. The state of the component can be based on information programmed in the second controller and the system state information. The component can include an off state and an operating state indicated by a signal from the second controller. | 04-07-2011
Power Management In A System Having A Processor And A Voltage Converter That Provide A Power Voltage To The Processor - A system has a processor and a voltage converter to provide a power voltage to the processor. The processor is able to transition among different power modes, Wherein the voltage converter receives indications to specify different voltage levels of the power voltage for at least two of the power modes. A controller detects a transition of the processor to a tower one of the power modes, and in response to detecting transition of the processor to the lower one of the power modes, disables at least one portion of the voltage converter. | 07-21-2011
