20110283889Espresso Machine with Grinder Dosing Control - An espresso machine has a built-in coffee grinder. An electrical switch toggles between a one cup dose and a two cup dose, The switch works in conjunction with a dose strength adjustment. Alteration of the dose strength adjustment alters the dose strength for both the one cup of two cup dose settings. The internal coffee grinder dispenses into a portafilter that is held in a hand free support cradle. In some embodiments, the upper burr head of the grinder is retained by a bracket. The combination of upper burr head and bracket allows the upper burr head to removed and replaced without having to re-set the grind size.11-24-2011

20100018403Tea Maker - A tea maker comprises a vessel in which is located a conveyor. The conveyor, preferably vertically, transports a carriage. The conveyor and a carriage are surrounded by a tube and are protected from the water in the vessel. An enclosed basket coupled to the carriage. An external user interface allows a user to select brewing parameters such as the type of beverage brewed, the brewing temperature, and the steeping time. The selection is sent to a processor. The processor then encodes the selection into a control data for the heating assembly or the conveyor.01-28-2010

20090320695Press and Grill - There is provided a toaster grill having a lower housing that supports a lower cooking surface and an upper housing that supports an upper cooking surface. The upper housing pivots with respect to a ā€œUā€ shaped frame that is hinged with respect to the lower cooking surface. A locking hinge allows the pivoting motion of the frame to be automatically arrested in an intermediate orientation between the fully closed and fully open grill orientations. The locking hinge automatically resets when the upper housing is rotated from the fully open grill orientation to the fully closed orientation.12-31-2009

20110166060TYMPANIC MEMBRANE PERMEATING EAR DROPS AND USES THEREOF - The present invention provides compositions and methods for noninvasive delivery of therapeutic agents across an intact tympanic membrane. For example, the compositions include a penetration enhancer which increases the flux of a therapeutic agent (e.g., antibiotic) across the tympanic membrane. Such compositions are particularly useful in the treatment of otitis media. Additionally, the composition may include a sustained release agents that, in some embodiments form sustained release reservoirs, in situ, once administered to a patient.07-07-2011
20110212163MAGNETIC HEATING FOR DRUG DELIVERY AND OTHER APPLICATIONS - The present invention generally relates to systems and methods for releasing a compound from an article using an external trigger, for example, magnetic fields. One aspect of the invention is generally directed to an article containing a magnetically-susceptible material. Exposure of the magnetically-susceptible material to a magnetic field, such as an oscillating magnetic field, may cause the magnetically-susceptible material to increase in temperature. This increase in temperature may be used, in some embodiments, to cause the release of a drug or other releasable material from the article. For instance, the drug may be contained in a heat-sensitive material in thermal communication with the magnetically-susceptible material, or the drug may be contained within an enclosure that is isolated, at least in part, by a heat-sensitive material in thermal communication with the magnetically-susceptible material. Other aspects of the invention are directed to systems and methods of making or using such articles, e.g., by implanting the article within a subject, methods of treatment involving such articles, kits including such articles, or the like.09-01-2011
20110230568HEATING OF POLYMERS AND OTHER MATERIALS USING RADIATION FOR DRUG DELIVERY AND OTHER APPLICATIONS - The present invention generally relates to systems and methods for releasing a releasable species from an article using an external trigger, for example, using infrared or near-infrared radiation. Such systems and methods may be useful, for example in biological applications (e.g., as an implant within a subject), industrial applications, commercial applications, or the like. One aspect of the invention is generally directed to an article containing a radiation-sensitive polymer or other radiation-sensitive material. Exposure of the radiation-sensitive material to radiation such as infrared or near-infrared radiation may cause the material to increase in temperature. This increase in temperature may be used, in some cases, to cause the release of a drug or other releasable species from the article. For instance, a drug may be contained in a heat-sensitive material positioned in thermal communication with the radiation-sensitive material, or a drug may be contained within an enclosure that is isolated, at least in part, by a heat-sensitive material positioned in thermal communication with the radiation-sensitive material. In another aspect of the invention, a receive antenna may be used to focus infrared or near- infrared radiation on an article. For instance, the receive antenna may focus infrared or near-infrared radiation on a radiation-sensitive material in the article. Such focusing may be useful, in some embodiments, to control release of a drug or other releasable species from the article. Other aspects of the invention are directed to systems and methods of making or using such articles, e.g., by implanting the article within a subject, methods of treatment involving such articles, kits including such articles, and the like.09-22-2011

20110212027RADIATIVE HEATING FOR DRUG DELIVERY AND OTHER APPLICATIONS - The present invention generally relates to systems and methods for releasing a releasable species from an article using an external trigger, for example, using microwave radiation or other forms of radiation, e.g., radiofrequency radiation. Such systems and methods may be useful, for example, in biological applications (e.g., as an implant within a subject), industrial applications, commercial applications, or the like. One aspect of the invention is generally directed to an article containing a radiation-sensitive polymer or other radiation-sensitive material. Exposure of the radiation- sensitive material to radiation such as microwave and/or radiofrequency radiation may cause the material to increase in temperature. In another aspect of the invention, a receive antenna, such as a microwave receive antenna may be used to focus microwave and/or radiofrequency radiation on an article. For instance, the receive antenna may focus microwave and/or radiofrequency radiation on a radiation-sensitive material in the article. Such focusing may be useful, in some embodiments, to control release of a drug or other releasable species from the article.
