20120115422IMAGE MAGNIFICATION BASED ON DISPLAY FLEXING - Systems and methods control resizing a presentation of an image on a flexible display. A user flexes a flexible display in a particular manner to control magnification or size reduction of the image presented on the display. The amount of magnification or size reduction of the image presented on a flexible display increases along with the absolute magnitude of flexible display flexing. The flexible display can be double flexed within a defined time to indicate that another action is to be taken, such as fitting the presently displayed document to the width of the flexible display or fitting the entire document to the flexible display. The direction of flexing, such as flexing in a concave or a convex direction, is a flexing characteristic that causes other desired actions.05-10-2012

20120119110APPARATUS, AND ASSOCIATED METHOD, FOR DETECTING CONTAMINATION OF AN OBJECT - An apparatus, and an associated method, for a portable electronic device, such as a wireless device, to determine luminescence of an object of interest. Ultraviolet A (UVA), or other appropriate, light energy is cause to be generated at a flicker rate. Images of the object of interest are recorded both when the UVA light energy is incident on the object of interest and in the absence of incidence of the UVA light energy on the object of interest. The images are compared, and a determination is made of the luminescence of the object of interest.05-17-2012

20080264088Reversible mode vehicle heating and cooling system for vehicles and method therefor - A reversible mode heating and cooling system for an interior space of a vehicle having an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) employs a heat pump arrangement, wherein a refrigerant compressor is driven by APU's diesel engine through pulley and belt arrangement. An air duct is provided to communicate engine exhaust air to an external heat exchanger during a heating mode. Openings and dampers are provided in the air duct to direct engine exhaust air flow to atmosphere and introduce ambient air into the external heat exchanger during cooling mode. Exhausted air from the external heat exchanger may be re-circulated back to the air inlet side of the engine. Provisions are also provided for operating the refrigerant compressor from the electrical power grid.10-30-2008
20090236167Support frame for auxiliary power unit for a motor vehicle - An auxiliary power system for a long-haul truck includes a first frame which has an auxiliary power unit mounted thereon using elastomeric isolation mounts. A second frame is affixed in a stationary position to an exterior surface of a single longitudinal rail of the vehicle frame. There is a pair of spring elements each operable in a vertical direction and having a first end thereof pivotally connected to a respective side member of the first frame and having a second end thereof pivotally connected to a respective side member of the second frame, whereby the first frame is capable of moving in a vertical plane relative to the second frame for isolating the auxiliary power unit from the effects of road shock and vibration. Elastomeric isolation mounts are also provided for controlling downward movement of the first frame.09-24-2009

20100106108FLUID CONTAINMENT APPARATUS - The invention relates to the treatment of wounds. In particular, the invention relates to systems, devices, and methods enabling pulse lavage irrigation of wounds in a non-controlled setting while providing containment of contaminated irrigation fluid, thereby preventing exposure of individuals and surfaces in proximity to the patient to infectious materials.04-29-2010
20120010578WOUND TREATMENT CONTAINMENT APPARATUS - The invention relates to the treatment of wounds. In particular, the invention relates to systems, devices, and methods enabling treatment (e.g., debridement) of wounds with liquid, gas, or particles in a non-controlled setting while providing containment of contaminated liquid, gas or particles, thereby preventing exposure of individuals and surfaces in proximity to the patient to infectious materials. In certain embodiments, the systems and devices are conformable to the contours of a non-planar surface, such as the human body (e.g., to seal or partially seal the device or system to a portion of a human body).01-12-2012

20080302766Resistance Welding Machine Pinch Point Safety Sensor - There is described a continuity sensing system that operates with a resistance-welding machine. This sensing system measures continuity between the welding electrodes after the welding machine has been initiated and prevents application of high electrode force between the electrodes if the continuity measured is below a reference level. The result is a fully passive system that prevents serious high electrode force that would cause serious pinch-point injury to the operator of the welder. The present invention also includes methods of controlling pneumatic systems on resistance-welding machines to apply low force between welding electrodes until continuity between the welding electrodes has been detected.12-11-2008
