20090115809LIQUID EJECTION CONTROL METHOD AND LIQUID EJECTION APPARATUS - It is an object of the invention to achieve a liquid ejection control method and the like that allows the amount of consumed liquid to be reduced. The liquid ejection control method controls the ejection of liquid, from nozzles for ejecting liquid, onto a medium that is fed in a predetermined feed direction, and has a step of detecting a portion of the medium that is positioned on an upstream side in said feed direction, and a step of not ejecting liquid from nozzles of a plurality of nozzles that are located on the upstream side in the feed direction based on the results of the detection.05-07-2009
20090219321LIQUID EJECTING DEVICE, COMPUTER SYSTEM, AND LIQUID EJECTING METHOD - A liquid ejecting apparatus etc. creating no blank space on a medium is achieved. The liquid ejecting apparatus has: a movable ejection head for ejecting a liquid; a feed mechanism for feeding a medium; and detecting means for detecting a position of an edge of the medium; wherein the apparatus repeats an operation of detecting the position of the edge with the detecting means, an operation of feeding the medium with the feed mechanism, and an operation of ejecting the liquid onto the medium from the moving ejection head; in accordance with the position of the edge that has been detected, the apparatus changes at least either one of a start position and an end position for ejecting the liquid from the moving ejection head; and if the position of the edge was not detected, the apparatus sets the start position or the end position to a position that has been established in advance.09-03-2009
20100013885LIQUID EJECTION METHOD AND LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS - A liquid ejection method of ejecting liquid from a movable ejection head onto a medium comprises the steps of: detecting a position of an end of the medium; and changing, according to a feed amount of the medium fed after the position of the end of the medium has been detected, at least either a starting position or a terminating position for ejecting the liquid from the ejection head being moved.01-21-2010
20100026750PRINTING APPARATUS AND PRINTING SYSTEM WITH A PLURALITY OF MOVABLE SENSORS FOR A PLURALITY OF FEATURES DETECTION - A printing apparatus according to the present invention includes a movable head that performs recording on a medium using ink; a first sensor that can move together with said head and that detects regular reflection light from said medium; and a second sensor that is provided separately from said first sensor, that can move together with said head and that detects diffuse reflection light from said medium.02-04-2010
20100171785LIQUID EJECTION APPARATUS, LIQUID EJECTION SYSTEM, AND LIQUID EJECTION METHOD - A liquid ejection apparatus, a liquid ejection system, and a liquid ejection method are achieved which allow starting and ending positions for ejecting liquid to be set appropriately. A controller is provided which executes position determination control for determining at least one of the starting position and the ending position for ejecting liquid from a moving ejection head onto a medium that is fed by a feed mechanism, wherein the position determination control by the controller differs for when ejecting the liquid from the ejection head to a region within a predetermined range from a front edge or a rear edge, in a feed direction, of the medium, and for when ejecting the liquid from the ejection head to a central region, in the feed direction, of the medium.07-08-2010
20100188447LIQUID EJECTING DEVICE, COMPUTER SYSTEM, AND LIQUID EJECTION METHOD - A liquid ejecting apparatus etc. creating no blank space on a medium is achieved. The liquid ejecting apparatus has: a movable ejection head for ejecting a liquid; a feed mechanism for feeding a medium; and detecting means for detecting a position of an edge of the medium; wherein the apparatus repeats an operation of detecting the position of the edge with the detecting means, an operation of feeding the medium with the feed mechanism, and an operation of ejecting the liquid onto the medium from the moving ejection head; in accordance with the position of the edge that has been detected, the apparatus changes at least either one of a start position and an end position for ejecting the liquid from the moving ejection head; and if the position of the edge was not detected, the apparatus sets the start position or the end position to a position that has been established in advance.07-29-2010

20090058920PRINTING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME - A printing apparatus includes an ejection unit that ejects fluid from nozzles onto a target and a nozzle inspection unit that performs nozzle inspection to inspect whether the fluid is ejected. An automatic print setting unit sets a check pattern automatic print mode in which a check pattern for confirming whether the fluid is ejected from the nozzles. An automatic inspection setting unit, when a predetermined automatic inspection condition is established, sets an automatic nozzle inspection mode in which the nozzle inspection is performed. A cleaning unit performs nozzle cleaning to clean abnormal nozzles that are detected. When the automatic nozzle inspection mode is set, a control unit controls the nozzle inspection unit so as not to perform the nozzle inspection during a period from when one of printing based on the print data and printing of the check pattern is started until the other is finished.03-05-2009
20090066743EJECTION INSPECTING DEVICE, PRINTING DEVICE, AND EJECTION INSPECTING METHOD - An ejection inspecting device which inspects an ejection state of an ejection head, including nozzles ejecting fluid, includes fluid receiving areas corresponding to the ejection head so as to receive the fluid ejected from the nozzles. A potential difference generating unit generates predetermined potential differences between the ejection head and the fluid receiving areas. Electrical variation detecting units detect electrical variations of the fluid receiving areas. A control unit drives the ejection head to eject the fluid to the fluid receiving areas from the nozzles in a state in which the predetermined potential differences are generated between the ejection head and the fluid receiving areas by the potential difference generating unit. The ejection inspecting device also inspects the nozzles to determine whether the fluid is ejected from the nozzles on the basis of the detection results of the electrical variation detecting units in the fluid receiving areas.03-12-2009
