20090047655Method Of Screening Candidate Drug - It is intended to provide a method of screening a candidate drug mainly metabolized by a drug metabolizing enzyme, CYP2D6, CYP2C9 or CYP2C19 with the use of a chimeric mouse carrying human hepatocytes transplanted thereinto, whereby it is determined whether or not the candidate drug is metabolized in a subject deficient in CYP2D6, CYP2C9 or CYP2C19. It is also intended to provide a method of determining whether or not a candidate drug induces or inhibits the activity of any of drug metabolizing enzymes, CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 with the use of a chimeric mouse carrying human hepatocytes transplanted thereinto.02-19-2009

20120094094Interlayer Hot Compaction - A process for the production of a polymeric article comprises the steps of: (a) forming a ply having successive layers, namely (ii) a first layer made up of strands of an oriented polymeric material; (ii) a second layer of a polymeric material; (iii) a third layer made up of strands of an oriented polymeric material, wherein the second layer has a lower peak melting temperature than that of the first and third layers; (b) subjecting the ply to conditions of time, temperature and pressure sufficient to melt a proportion of the first layer, to melt the second layer entirely, and to melt a proportion of the third layer; and to compact the ply; and (c) cooling the compacted ply. The resultant articles have good mechanical properties yet may be made at lower compaction temperatures than articles not employing the second layer, leading to a more controllable manufacturing process.04-19-2012

20090311505WATER-RETAINABLE MOLDING AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME - A water-retainable molding is formed by mixing and hardening cement, fiber bundles and fiber masses, and includes first pores inside the fiber bundles, second pores between fiber bundles and a cement gel, third pores inside the fiber masses, fourth pores between the adjacent fiber masses, and fifth pores due to discharge of water content and air inside a platelike block. The first, second and fifth pores are employed as a capillary portion, the third pores are employed as a water-retaining portion, and the fourth pores are employed as a water communicating opening portion. When water is supplied to the surface, the water is absorbed from the fourth pores as well as the first, second and fifth pores, and is retained in the third pores. Furthermore, when the temperature rises, the water content is supplied from the third pores to the surface through the first, second and fifth pores so as to be evaporated and to control the temperature of the molding.12-17-2009

20080239886APPARATUS, METHOD AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR PROCESSING INFORMATION - An information processing apparatus for recording data onto a recording medium, includes an access controller for outputting, to a medium-specific controller, record data input from an application and directed to the recording medium. The access controller performs a read-modify-write (RMW) operation by verifying whether one of a record start position and a record end position of the record data input by a logical sector unit from the application is different from a delimitation position of a physical sector as an access unit of the recording medium, acquiring the record data by the physical sector unit and storing the record data onto a memory if one of the record start position and the record end position is different from the delimitation position, updating logical sector data as part of stored physical sector data with the input record data, and outputting the updated physical sector data to the medium-specific controller.10-02-2008

20120069383Image Processing System and Imaging Object Used for Same - An imaging technology having high reproducibility of a document and making image correction possible, without being influenced by a way of placing the document or a position of a camera, and irrespective of paper color and despite of damage of a corner portion. By printing positioning symbols on document paper in advance when the document is photographed by a digital camera or a portable phone with a camera, such as a smart phone, and by processing the image based on these positioning symbols, image processing having high reproducibility of the document and making image correction (keystone correction) possible can be implemented irrespective of paper color and even when there is damage to a corner portion of the paper.03-22-2012
