20110150201APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A CONFERENCE ASSISTANCE SYSTEM - A method for operating a conference assistance system is provided. The method includes receiving a conference code over a call established with an originating system, wherein the conference code is entered by a user over the call to initiate a conference session, and in response to receiving the conference code, identifying a conference system for the user. The method also includes upon identifying the conference system, initiating the conference session on behalf of the user with the conference system, and transferring the conference code to the conference system to authorize the conference session. The method further includes upon authorization of the conference session, connecting the conference system with the originating system to enable the conference session for the user.06-23-2011
20110158397Server for Providing Enhanced Services to Contact Center Agents - A technique is disclosed that enables a contact center to provide enhanced services to its agents. An agent server is interconnected with the automatic call distributor (ACD) and agent telephones of the contact center. The server intercepts messages sent by the ACD, which contain caller-provided data obtained by an interactive voice response system. When it is determined that the particular agent has access to both a telephone and a personal computer, the agent server draws a distinction in the information content of the received message. In doing so, the agent server provides the call initialization information in the message to the agent's telephone, and appears as if the information were coming from the ACD; additionally, the agent server provides the caller-provided data to the agent's personal computer. The personal computer is then able to execute a predetermined application, such as a display-oriented presentation application, based on the caller-provided data.06-30-2011
20110286365Method for Connection Preservation - A method is provided for the preservation of communication sessions that are terminated unexpectedly. The present invention detects when an ongoing communication session is (or is about to be) terminated unexpectedly by a first communication session participant. And also, the present invention takes steps to preserve the disintegration of the communication session with respect to a second communication session participant.11-24-2011

20080227390METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR RELAYING SIGNALS FROM A MAGNETO-INDUCTIVE SYSTEM THROUGH A VOICE-BAND SYSTEM - A system and method for relaying signals from a magneto-inductive system, which are normally used to communicate between magneto-inductive units using quasi-static magnetic fields, over a voice-band communication system. The magneto-inductive signals are modulated data signals having a carrier frequency typically between 300 Hz and 3 kHz. The voice-band communication system facilitates long distance communication of voice-band signals. By supplying the signals from one magneto-inductive unit to the voice-band communication system through an analog input port, the signals are transmitted through the voice-band communication system. They are output from the system through an analog audio output port to the other magneto-inductive unit.09-18-2008

20110285506SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRACKING ITEMS - The present invention is a system and method for tracking items. The present invention includes a device configured to perform registrations of items. The present invention may involve registering an item through use of a short-range communication system. The item may communicate via a short-range communication protocol and be associated with an identifier. A device may be utilized to scan for the item via the short-range communication protocol. Input to the device may be detected and recognized as indicating a snooze function that temporarily suppresses an alert associated with an out-of range condition for the item.11-24-2011

20080241902PRODUCTION OF BIODIESEL, CELLULOSIC SUGARS, AND PEPTIDES FROM THE SIMULTANEOUS ESTERIFICATION AND ALCOHOLYSIS/HYDROLYSIS OF OIL-CONTAINING MATERIALS WITH CELLULOSIC AND PEPTIDIC CONTENT - The present invention relates to a method for producing fatty acid alkyl esters as well as cellulosic simplified sugars, shortened protein polymers, amino acids, or combination thereof resulting from the simultaneous esterification and hydrolysis, alcoholysis, or both of algae and other oil containing materials containing free fatty acids (FFA), glycerides, or combination thereof as well as polysaccharides, cellulose, hemicellulose, lignocellulose, protein polymers, or combination thereof in presences of an alcohol and an acid catalyst.10-02-2008
20110162951PARTIAL PRESSURE DISTILLATION PROCESS - A method for separating at least one volatile component such as an alkyl ester, an alcohol, hydroxymethylfuran, dimethylfuran, methyl tetrahydrofuran, a polyhydric alcohol, or a reduction product of a polyhydric alcohol from at least one non-volatile component such as a saccharide, a peptide, or ash in a mixture is disclosed. The method includes heating the mixture to a temperature of between 150-250° C. and contacting the mixture with a superheated distillation alcohol in a gaseous or vapor phase. The distillation alcohol pressure imparts partial vapor pressure on the at least one volatile component of the mixture and distills at least a portion of the at least one volatile component from the mixture.07-07-2011
