20110043832PRINTED AUDIO FORMAT AND PHOTOGRAPH WITH ENCODED AUDIO - A printed audio format includes a printed encoding of an audio signal, and a plurality of spaced-apart and parallel rails. The printed encoding of the audio signal is located between the plurality of rails and each rail comprises at least one marker. The printed encoding comprises a first portion and a second portion, each portion comprises a plurality of code frames, and each frame represents a time segment of an audio signal. The first portion encodes a first time period of the audio signal and the second portion encodes a second time period of the audio signal. The second portion is encoded in reverse order with respect to the first portion so that the joining part is on the same end of both portions.02-24-2011

20120000956DETERMINISTIC CLEAVE OF OPTICAL FIBER - Axial tension is applied to an optical fiber that had been scored at the intended cleave location, wherein the axial tension is applied in a time-varying manner to maintain the stress intensity factor for crack on the fiber within an acceptable level to produce a stable crack growth at a reasonable rate to cleave the fiber without requiring polishing of the end surface. Careful control of the applied tension force with time acts to control the velocity of the propagating crack by maintaining substantially constant stress intensity factor. The applied axial tension force is reduced with time and/or crack growth (as crack propagates). As a result, the strain energy in the fiber material is released by formation of a single plane with an optical quality surface without requiring polishing. A substantially flat optical surface of enhanced optical quality is formed at the cleaved end of the optical fiber.01-05-2012

20120114795DAIRY PRODUCT AND PROCESS - A method for preparing a modified whey protein concentrate (WPC) or whey protein isolate (WPI) is described. It involves (a) providing an aqueous WPC or WPI solution having a protein concentration of 15-50% (w/v), at a pH of 4.7-8.5; (b) heat treating the solution to more than 50° C., for a time that allows protein denaturation to occur; the heat treating comprising heating the solution while under conditions of turbulent flow. At the end of the heat treatment, the heat treated material may be promptly transferred to a drier or to be mixed with other ingredients. The heat-treated WPC or WPI is not subjected to a mechanical shear process prior to the transfer other than where liquid is converted into droplets to facilitate drying. The modified WPC is useful in the manufacture of food and drinks where a high protein content is desired without undesirable changes in texture.05-10-2012

20100208139METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROCESSING A COMPOSITE VIDEO IMAGE - There are provided methods and systems for processing a composite video image. The composite video image may be a combination of an image and at least one encoded screen capture at a communications apparatus either by a user or in accordance to pre-determined settings for the user's consumption and transmission to a network. Transmission to a network may be simultaneous during the user's consumption. It is advantageous that encoding of the at least one screen capture is independent of at least one application running on the at least one secondary device. It is possible that the at least one screen capture may or may not have audio signals.08-19-2010
20100245431 METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REVERSE PRINTING ON A FLEXIBLE LENTICULAR SUBSTRATE - There is provided a method and apparatus for reverse printing a plurality of images interlaced with each other on an underside surface of an appropriate flexible lenticular substrate. The method includes analyzing a viewing orientation of either portrait configuration or landscape configuration of at least one of the plurality of images; determining whether the appropriate flexible lenticular substrate is used for the printing of the plurality of images interlaced with each other in accordance with the viewing orientation of one of the plurality of images; analyzing an orientation of a first marker on the underside surface of the appropriate flexible lenticular substrate; and printing the plurality of images interlaced with each other in accordance with the orientation of the first marker on the underside of the appropriate flexible lenticular substrate. It is advantageous that the printed plurality of images interlaced with each other, when viewed through a top surface of the appropriate flexible lenticular substrate, appear to have characteristics selected from the group consisting of: depth, morphing characteristics, can appear to have motion, and the capability to alternate from one image to another.09-30-2010
