20110201479Method for treatment of children with developmental delay - The invention disclosed herein is a method and device for treatment of children suffering from conditions or diseases which cause delayed neuromuscular development. A neck flotation device such as an inflatable collar is affixed around the child's neck. The child wearing the aforementioned neck flotation device is immersed into the pool of water in which the water has been heated to approximately 92-94 degrees Fahrenheit. The child's head is supported by the neck flotation device to ensure safe breathing. The child's torso and extremities are suspended vertically in the therapy tank filled with warm water. The child can move in the pool of warm water without being restrained by gravity. By the method disclosed herein, children suffering from diseases and conditions which cause delayed neuromuscular development are permitted to exercise their muscles to develop muscle tone, increase lung function and promote neuromuscular coordination.08-18-2011

20090123902Method And System For The Preparation Of The General Education Development Test - The present invention is directed to a method and system for individualizing preparation for a high school equivalency test. The method and system comprise obtaining from the individual an initial skills assessment in one or more subject areas of the high school equivalency test. The initial skills assessment provides a raw score in one of the subject areas. The method and system further comprise determining an Alpha score for the respective subject area based on the initial skills assessment. The Alpha score is a difference between a passing score for the high school equivalency test and the raw score from the initial skills assessment in the same subject area.05-14-2009

20090055540Methods and Systems for Multicast Control and Channel Switching for Streaming Media in an IMS Environment - Systems and methods according to the present invention address this need and others by reducing the delay in channel zapping for streaming media, e.g., Internet Protocol television (IPTV). This delay is reduced by performing channel zapping through an Internet Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) signaling.02-26-2009
20100107204DYNAMIC IPTV GROUP PROFILE CREATION AND MANAGEMENT - An IPTV group profile is dynamically generated based on individual IPTV user profiles, whenever a user joins or leaves a shared IPTV session at an IPTV Terminal Function (ITF). The IPTV group profile may be implemented as a modification to the IPTV user profile of each user. In one embodiment, a “group” branch includes the additional access privileges and/or restrictions from the IPTV user profiles of other group members. The modified IPTV user profiles of users in the group are placed on a network entity such as an XDM Server (XDMS), to which the ITF subscribes via XCAP. As users join or leave a shared IPTV session at an ITF, the IPTV-AS updates the IPTV user profiles on the XDMS, which notifies the ITF of the changes. Each user's IPTV user profile at the ITF thus reflects group access privileges, preferences and restrictions for the duration of the shared IPTV session.04-29-2010
20110138432Media Bookmarks - Specific instances in time, e.g., scenes, in a program or other media content can be marked in an unambiguous manner. A scene's marking information, which can be called a bookmark, is preferably stored in communication network as a part of a user's service profile. With such a bookmark, a user can, among other things, resume watching a program from the bookmarked point onwards on the same or a different media device, and send the bookmark to others, e.g., as a link in chat or other social networking interactions, so that they can watch the program from or around the bookmarked scene (provided, of course, that they have rights to access that content).06-09-2011

20110106990EFFICIENT HANDLING OF QUEUED-DIRECT I/O REQUESTS AND COMPLETIONS - Computer program products and methods for efficient handling of queued-direct input/output (QDIO) requests and completions at an adapter in communication with an I/O device are provided. A method includes accessing a queue with one or more storage block address lists (SBALs), where each SBAL includes a plurality of storage block address list entries (SBALEs) and is associated with an SLSB. The method further includes reading an SBAL count in one of the SBALEs, where the SBAL count indicates a number of the SBALs forming an I/O request to the I/O device. In response to determining that the SBAL count is greater than one, a number of the SBALs from the queue and associated SLSBs equivalent to the SBAL count are prefetched without waiting for a notification of completion of each of the SBALs forming the I/O request, and states of the associated SLSBs transition from adapter-owned to program-owned.05-05-2011
