20090005729MEDICAL INFUSION PUMPS - Disclosed is a medical infusion device including a dedicated processing unit for detecting abnormal operation of the operation of the device. Specifically, a watchdog controller is employed as an independent monitor of the functioning of microprocessors used in the medical infusion device for controlling things such as RF communication, insulin infusion, and system integrity. Through the use of an independently-powered watchdog control system, the accuracy and reliability of the device is enhanced, resulting in greater assurance to the patient receiving periodic or continuous infusion of a drug.01-01-2009
20090099505Data Transmission System For A Drug Infusion Device - Disclosed is a medical infusion device, such as an externally worn insulin pump, capable of being in remote communication with a controller or data acquisition unit such as a blood glucose meter. The disclosed medical infusion device includes a dual frequency antenna to facilitate communication with the remote device and the antenna is mounted using a spring-design that inhibits transmission of vibration to the antenna.04-16-2009
20090105646Multi-Frequency Communication System For A Drug Infusion Device - Disclosed is a medical infusion device, such as an externally worn insulin pump, capable of being in remote communication with a controller or data acquisition unit such as a blood glucose meter. The disclosed medical infusion device includes a dual frequency antenna to facilitate communication with the remote device and the antenna is mounted using a spring-design that inhibits transmission of vibration to the antenna.04-23-2009

20090055351DIRECT MASS STORAGE DEVICE FILE INDEXING - An arrangement for enumerating data, such as media content including music, that is stored on external hard drive-based mass storage devices is provided by a media content processing system that implements a direct mass storage device file indexing process. This file indexing process is configured for finding all files and directories on the mass storage device, and reading through those parts of the files which contain metadata (such as album name, artist name, genre, track title, track number etc.) about the file. Use of the media content processing system reduces file enumeration time by minimizing the amount of physical movement of the read/write head in the hard disk drive that is used by the mass storage device. This motion minimization is accomplished by reading the clusters of directory and file data in a sequential manner on the hard disk, rather than randomly performing such read operations.02-26-2009

20080277002COUPLER - This invention is directed to a coupler which comprises an actuator housing and a plunger housing each formed with a passageway for transmitting fluid entering an indwelling catheter to a collection bag. As the housings are connected together, a plunger located in the passageway of the plunger housing is moved from a closed position to an open position by an actuator mounted in the actuator housing in such a way that a seal is continuously maintained in the plunger housing to prevent the escape of fluids from its passageway. A quick-release locking mechanism maintains the two housings in a locked position when the plunger is in the open position, and may be easily activated to permit separation of the housings from one another when it is desired to empty or replace the collection bag.11-13-2008
20080281284FLUID COLLECTION SYSTEM - A system is provided for collecting bodily fluids, and particularly urine from the bladder of a patient, comprising a catheter inserted into the bladder, a low pressure, cyclic magnetic valve coupled to the catheter, a collection bag, and, a quick-release coupler interposed between the magnetic valve and the collection bag.11-13-2008
