20090327907INTEGRATING CHARACTER-BASED PROFILES WITHIN A SOCIAL NETWORK - Profiles that are character-based and which reflect various brand assets are supported in a social networking service by an arrangement that enables members to interact with the branded character-based profiles in the same way as profiles of any real members of the social network. Branded characters may thus be befriended and their profiles shared with other users, rated, and discussed.12-31-2009

20100013304Adding and Dropping Phases in Current Sharing - A distributed power management system may include a digital communication bus and a plurality of POL (point-of-load) regulators coupled to the communication bus and configured in a current sharing arrangement in which each POL regulator of the plurality of POL regulators has a respective output stage coupled to a common load and configured to generate a respective output current. Each POL regulator may have a respective phase in the current sharing configuration, and each POL regulator may transmit and receive information over the bus according to a bus communication protocol corresponding to the bus. Each POL regulator may autonomously add and drop its phase as required by the system, by sequentially manipulating a pulse width of a couple of gate signals configured to respectively control a high-side field effect transistor (FET) and low-side FET in the POL regulator's output stage.01-21-2010
20100013305Method to Properly Ramp Current Sharing - A distributed power management system may include a communication bus and a plurality of POL (point-of-load) regulators coupled to the communication bus, and configured in a current sharing arrangement in which each POL regulator of the plurality of POL regulators has a respective output stage coupled to a common load and configured to generate a respective output current. Each POL regulator may have a respective phase in the current sharing configuration, and may transmit and receive information over the bus according to a bus communication protocol corresponding to the bus. The plurality of POL regulators may autonomously synchronize, to each other, a start time of their respective output voltage signal ramps by transmitting monitoring information to each other over the communication bus, while each of the POL regulators is ramping a duty cycle of a gate signal controlling a low-side field effect transistor of the output stage of the POL regulator according to a duty cycle of a gate signal controlling a high-side FET of the output stage of the POL regulator.01-21-2010
20100013306Intelligent Management of Current Sharing Group - A distributed power management system may include a communication bus and a plurality of POL (point-of-load) regulators coupled to the communication bus and configured in a current sharing arrangement in which each POL regulator of the plurality of POL regulators has a respective output stage coupled to a common load and configured to generate a respective output current. Each POL regulator may have a respective phase in the current sharing configuration, and may transmit and receive information over the bus according to a bus communication protocol corresponding to the bus. The plurality of POL regulators may autonomously arbitrate a new master assignment, when a POL regulator operating as a master device drops out of regulation when a fault occurs, the respective phase of the master device is dropped, and/or the communication interface of the master device to the communication bus fails. The plurality of POL regulators may autonomously add and drop phases while automatically redistributing phase alignments of the POL regulators relative to one another.01-21-2010
20100013307Active Droop Current Sharing - Point-of-load (POL) regulators may be configured as multiphase POL DC-to-DC (direct current to direct current) converters, operating in a multiphase configuration in order to boost the total current available to a system. Current balancing may be performed by utilizing an active low bandwidth current sharing algorithm that uses matched artificial line resistance (droop resistance) while maintaining multi-loop stability during both steady-state and dynamic transient states. The current sharing algorithm may be facilitated through digital communication between the devices, where the digital bus may be a single wire bus, a parallel bus or a clock-and-data bus.01-21-2010

20110261875Multi-Edge Pulse Width Modulator with Non-Stationary Residue Assignment - An improved method for generating pulse width modulated signals, e.g., for use in audio amplifiers, power amplifiers, etc. An input digital value is received and divided by a number N, producing a quotient and a residue. A plurality N of edge modulation values may then be generated based on the quotient and the residue. Each of the N edge modulation values specifies an edge of the pulse width modulated signal to be generated. Generation of the N edge modulation values may comprise applying the residue to one or more of the N edge modulation values when the residue is greater than zero. The residue may be applied to different ones of the plurality N of edge modulation values during different iterations of the method in a non-stationary fashion. The pulse width modulated signal may then be generated based on the N edge modulation values.10-27-2011

20100290638DIGITAL AUDIO COMMUNICATION AND CONTROL IN A LIVE PERFORMANCE VENUE - In embodiments of the present invention improved capabilities are described for digitally transmitting audio that is converted from analog audio received from analog media pickup devices in a live performance venue by a stage box to a base unit over off-the-shelf twisted pair cable while sending pre-amplification control signals and power over the cable to the stage box. Audio for the performance venue is remotely managed from a virtual audio engineering mixing board that wirelessly communicates audio control commands to the stage box from a handheld computing device.11-18-2010
