20100320066ENVIRONMENTALLY SEALED INDUCTIVE SENSOR ASSEMBLY - An exemplary embodiment of an inductive electrical sensor assembly includes a hollow housing structure defining an open space within the housing structure and a circuit board mounted in the open space. The circuit board includes an inductive sense area. A flexible metal domed spring structure is mounted over the inductive sensor area. A stem portion extends from a actuator area of the housing structure and having a distal end disposed adjacent to or in contact with the spring structure. The domed spring structure is adapted to be flexed toward the inductive sensor area by force exerted by the stem portion when a user exerts force on the actuator area, the flexing of the domed spring structure resulting in a change of inductance of the inductive sensor area which may be sensed to indicate an actuator push. An exemplary embodiment of the sensor assembly may include a resiliently deformable potting material substantially filling open spaces in the hollow housing structure between the top surface and the circuit board, and an open space below the circuit board, enabling flexure of the domed spring structure while providing environmental protection.12-23-2010

20090144196METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PAYMENT OF PERMIT MAIL - A system and method that allows mailers of all sizes to pay for permit mail without presenting cash or a check at the time of induction is provided. A permit payment aggregator establishes a master account with the postal system for the payment of permit mail. A plurality of mailers each establish a separate account with the permit payment aggregator and transfer control of payment of mail inducted under their respective permit imprints to the permit payment aggregator. When the mailer desires to send a mailing, a request for payment of postage is made to the permit payment aggregator, which processes the information related to the mailing. The induction site communicates with the permit payment aggregator and the mailing as presented is compared with the information processed by the permit payment aggregator. If the mailing is accepted, the master account is debited for payment.06-04-2009
20110071944SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISPENSING POSTAGE WITHOUT PRINTING - A method of dispensing evidence of postage payment that includes providing a machine readable mechanism, such as a barcode, for being associated with a mailpiece to a customer, wherein the machine readable mechanism includes a first identifier and the customer has a customer identifier. The method further includes receiving first information from a mobile electronic device associated with the customer, the first information including: (i) the first identifier, (ii) the customer identifier, and (iii) mailpiece information, preferably including a postage amount, relating to the mailpiece, the first identifier included in the first information having been obtained based on an image of the pre-printed machine readable mechanism captured by the mobile electronic device, deducting a postage amount based on the mailpiece information from a postage account associated with the customer identifier, and transmitting the first identifier and verification of payment for postage to a carrier.03-24-2011

20080236904METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR COLLABORATIVE CAPTURE AND REPLAY OF DIGITAL MEDIA FILES USING MULTIMODAL DOCUMENTS - A system and method for enabling capture and replay of digital media files using multimodal documents including a context manager for managing multimodal documents with a virtual media content management system coupled to the context manager. The virtual media content management system contains digital content which is adapted to be managed by the virtual media content management system. An input system is coupled to the context manager and includes a stylus operable to select digital content to be processed. The context manager is operable to issue multimodal document management instructions to the virtual media content management system to process digital content selected by the stylus based on input information from the input system.10-02-2008
20080244385SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANAGING MULTIMODAL DOCUMENTS - A multimodal document management system and method includes a context manager for managing multimodal documents. A virtual media content management system is coupled to the context manager and a physical media content management system is coupled to the context manager. The context manager is operable to issue multimodal document management instructions to the virtual media content management system and issuing instructions to the physical media content management system. The context manager instructions may relate to shredding of multimodal documents by deleting virtual media and destroying physical media. The method for managing multimodal documents may include receiving a request for the shredding of an information and content data file containing a list of virtual media and physical media relating to a multimodal document. A determination is made if the request for shred is authorized and, where said request for shred is authorized, a record of the shred request is created. Elements in the element list are grouped based on elements in the list which are managed by the same content management system. A message is sent to each content management system requesting the shredding of each element for the grouping of elements for the content management system. The content management systems may verify and report the success of the shredding.10-02-2008
20100067071FLEXIBLE SYSTEM FOR FEEDING AND PROCESSING MULTI-PAGE DOCUMENTS - A system for feeding and processing documents includes a document transport system adapted to transport documents to document processing stations. A fastening device detecting station is connected to the transport system and is adapted to detect a fastening device securing together pages of a document. A fastening device removing station is connected to the transport system. The fastening device removing station is adapted to remove a fastening device securing together pages of a document. A scanning station is connected to the transport system. The scanning station is adapted to scan the pages of a document. A page flipping station is connected to the transport system. The page flipping station is adapted to flip pages of a document having a fastening device securing together pages of a document such that each document pages is positioned to be scanned at the scanning station. A systems controller is interactively connected to and controls the operation of the document transport system, the fastening device detecting station, the fastening device removing station, the scanning station and the page flipping station. The systems controller controls the operation of the transport system and the stations based on information provided to the systems controller by the fastening device detecting station for a document to be scanned at the scanning station, to cause such document to be scanned to be processed by the fastening device removing station to remove a fastening device securing together pages of a document before scanning of the document or by the page flipping station during scanning of the document to be scanned. A method may be employed where depending on a determination of the nature of a document to be processed, the document is either routed along a first path of travel where the fastener is removed and the document pages are fed seriatim for processing or along a second path of travel where the document pages are turned during processing.03-18-2010

20090242664DEVICE FOR SPRAYING ANTI-ICING AGENTS ON TRANSPORT SURFACE - The present invention provides a deicing device for spraying anti-icing agents over a transport surface, such as paved road or bridge, to protect the transport surface from snow deposition and ice formation. The deicing device that is surface mounted to the transport surface has a pavement sensor to determine when the deicing device is turned on and off to spray the anti-icing agents. The deicing device comprises a supporting housing, a spray puck having a plurality of nozzles and jet channels connected to the nozzles for spraying anti-icing agents, a lock ring to immobilize the spray buck within the supporting housing, and an O-ring for sealing the anti-icing agents from leaking. The spray puck can be rotated within the supporting housing to change a spray direction. The jet channels have round corners, such as parabolic shape cross-section, to prevent from collection of dirt or debris. The supporting housing is configured for dual stacking such that a second supporting housing is stacked on a first supporting housing to extend the top of the deicing device to be flush with the transport surface when the road is repaved.10-01-2009
