20090083883D-Amino Acid Selection For Soybean - The present invention relates to improved methods and means for transformation of soybean (03-26-2009
20090113572Starchy-endosperm and/or germinating embryo-specific expression in mono-cotyledonous plants - The present invention relates to the field of agricultural biotechnology. Disclosed herein are expression constructs with expression specificity for the starchy endosperm and/or the germinating embryo, transgenic plants comprising such expression constructs, and methods of making and using such DNA constructs and transgenic plants.04-30-2009
20090144863Expression Enhancing Intron Sequences - The invention relates to methods for the identification and use of introns with gene expression enhancing properties. The teaching of this invention enables the identification of introns causing intron-mediated enhancement (IME) of gene expression. The invention furthermore relates to recombinant expression construct and vectors comprising said IME-introns operably linked with a promoter sequence and a nucleic acid sequence. The present invention also relates to transgenic plants and plant cells transformed with these recombinant expression constructs or vectors, to cultures, parts or propagation material derived there from, and to the use of same for the preparation of foodstuffs, animal feeds, seed, pharmaceuticals or fine chemicals, to improve plant biomass, yield, or provide desirable phenotypes.06-04-2009
20090293148Improved Methods Controlling Gene Expression - The present invention is in the field of genetics, especially plant genetics, and provides agents capable of controlling gene expression. The present invention specifically provides sequences of naturally occurring, tissue-specifically expressed microRNAs. The invention further provides for transgenic expression constructs comprising sequences encoding said microRNAs. By incorporation of the microRNA encoding sequence the expression from said expression construct is specifically silenced in the tissue where the naturally occurring microRNA is naturally expressed. Thereby the expression profile resulting from the promoter is modulated and leakiness is reduced. The invention further provides for a method for modulating transgenic expression by incorporating sequences encoding said microRNAs into transgenic expression constructs. The compositions and methods of the invention can be used to enhance performance of agricultural relevant crops and for therapy, prophylaxis, research and diagnostics in diseases and disorders, which afflict mammalian species.11-26-2009
20100162428Method Of Excising A Nucleic Acid Sequence From A Plant Genome - The present invention relates to a method for excising a nucleic acid sequence from the genome of a plant or a plant cell. This method is based on the steps of transforming a plant cell with a construct encoding a DNA double strand break inducing enzyme (DSBI), generating a transgenic plant line, performing a transient assay to analyze the functionality of the transgenic enzyme, crossing the plant line with a line containing a nucleic acid sequence to be excised and performing an immature embryo conversion or a tissue culture regeneration through callus formation. The method can also be reversed, which means that a plant cell is transformed with a construct encoding a nucleic acid sequence to be excised, and the crossing is performed with a plant line containing a DSBI. As an alternative to the crossing step, a re-transformation of a transgenic plant line with a second construct can also be performed. The invention is also directed to a plant obtained by this method, or progeny, propagation material, part, tissue, cell or cell culture, derived from such a plant. Finally, the invention relates to the use of a plant or progeny, propagation material, part, tissue, cell or cell culture, derived from this method, as aliment, fodder or seeds or for the production of pharmaceuticals or chemicals.06-24-2010
20100192237Methods for Controlling Gene Expression Using Ta-Sira - The present invention is in the field of genetics, especially plant genetics, and provides agents capable of controlling gene expression. More specifically the inventions relates to methods for engineering ta-siRNA primary transcripts in order to target gene-of-interest (GOI) and control their expression. The invention further provides for a method for modulating transgenic expression by said engineered ta-siRNAs.07-29-2010
20110035840NUCLEIC ACID SEQUENCES FOR REGULATION OF EMBRYO-SPECIFIC EXPRESSION IN MONOCOTYLEDONEOUS PLANTS - The present invention relates to the field of agricultural biotechnology. Disclosed herein are methods, nucleic acid molecules and expression constructs or vectors thereof for an expression specific for the germinating embryo, transgenic plants and cells comprising such nucleic acids, vectors, expression constructs, as well as methods of making and using such DNA constructs and transgenic plant.02-10-2011
