20090258689No dealer hand "21" - A process for playing “no dealer hand” Twenty-one is established where the uses of, or display of, at least one common deck of fifty-two cards is being applied for play action. This process is inclusive to either an encompassing video gaming apparatus or a live action table gaming environment, as accommodated for. In play action, the dealer's hand is replaced with the application of Trigger Numbers, ranging anywhere from Twelve (12) up to Twenty (20), and optional Push Numbers ranging anywhere from Twelve (12) up to Twenty (20). Through such an application, a more mathematically malleable and “broader core margin” percentage variance is provided for exploitation. Likewise, this broader core margin variance is made possible while simultaneously applying a seamlessly familiar playing experience for patrons. In so doing, the applicants' Trigger & Push Number solutions replacing the dealer's hand in play action, proffers a whole new frontier for the “Twenty-One” gaming procedure. As such, this procedure directly features significantly fatter core payoffs for winning hand tallies from the game's base mathematical mechanics for play while still providing for all the necessary elements of a sustainable alternative to the classic Blackjack workhorse for which the public can enthusiastically embrace.10-15-2009

20080206702Manipulable dental model system for fabrication of a dental appliance - Fabricating polymeric shell appliances for moving a patient's teeth. A first tooth arrangement model is formed by placing models of individual teeth representing the patient's teeth onto a plurality of platforms of a frame approximating a shape and size of a jaw of the patient, wherein each model tooth comprises a coupling member for coupling the model tooth with a platform of the plurality of platforms. A first polymeric shell appliance is formed over the first tooth arrangement model or a copy thereof. At least a second tooth arrangement model is formed by rearranging at least some of the individual teeth relative to the frame. At least a second polymeric shell appliance is formed over the second tooth arrangement model or a copy thereof.08-28-2008

20100332678SMART NAGLING IN A TCP CONNECTION - An approach is provided to improve network efficiency. A send segment size, such as a maximum segment size (MSS), that corresponds to data segments being sent to a receiver over a computer network. A data block is identified in a send buffer and the data block includes more than one data segments. Based on the determined send segment size, all but a remaining data segment of the data segments are sent to the receiver. The sent data segments are each the determined send segment size and the remaining data segment is smaller than the send segment size. The remaining data segment is sent to the receiver in response to identifying that the remaining data segment is a portion of the data block.12-30-2010

20090055377Collaborative Media Recommendation and Sharing Technique - A media recommendation and sharing technique that employs agents on media players/devices to expand the scope of media sharing scenarios. The technique assists a user in discovering media items, such as, for example, music, recordings, play lists, pictures, video games, on nearby media players or devices (devices which are capable of receiving, storing and playing media) which are interesting to the user. The collaborative media recommendation and sharing technique contemporaneously determines a user's media preferences based on media stored on a pair of media devices and recommends media for potential sharing based on these determined user preferences.02-26-2009

20120112961METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FASTER GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM (GPS) LOCATION USING A PRE-COMPUTED SPATIAL LOCATION FOR TRACKING GPS SATELLITES - A method and apparatus for faster global positioning system (GPS) location using pre-computed spatial location data are described. In one embodiment, a method includes acquiring a pre-computed spatial location of a mobile platform device (MPD) that is computed when a GPS receiver is disabled due to the spatial location of the MPD. In one embodiment, the pre-computed spatial location is determined by a non-GPS based spatial location technology when a receiver is disabled due to the spatial location of the MPD, During the periodic computation of spatial location data, the GPS receiver may be monitored. In one embodiment, in response to activation of the GPS receiver, the pre-computed spatial location data is provided to the GPS receiver for identification and lock onto a predetermined number of visible satellites to reduce a time to first fix (TTFF) a current spatial location of the MPD. Other embodiments are described and claimed.05-10-2012
