20110295381Bimetal acetabular component construct for hip joint prosthesis - This invention provides for a novel orthopedic prosthesis, specifically a prosthetic acetabular component for a prosthetic total hip joint, that comprises two constructs, one being a metal base construct that engages the bone and the other being a polyethylene bearing construct that attaches to the metal base construct and articulates with a femoral stem prosthetic component on the opposing side of the joint. The metal base construct is composed of two different metals, one of which engages the bone surface and the other of which engages the polyethylene bearing construct. Each of these metals is selected so that its characteristics are well suited to its particular function. More particularly, the first metal (i.e., the one that engages the bone surface) is selected so as to provide a superior bone-engaging face, while the second metal (i.e., the one that engages the polyethylene bearing construct) is selected so as to provide a superior polyethylene-engaging face. By combining the different material characteristics of two different metals in the metal bone construct, it is possible to simultaneously form a superior bone-engaging face and a superior polyethylene-engaging face.12-01-2011

20100042318Method of Operating a Navigation System to Provide Parking Availability Information - A method of operating a navigation system includes obtaining a destination location and identifying a parking facility proximate said destination location. The method further includes providing historic parking availability information for the identified parking facility. The historic parking availability information is based on past parking availability at the identified parking facility. The method may also calculate a route from an origin to the parking facility and provide guidance for following the route. Additionally, the method obtains a reservation for parking at the parking facility.02-18-2010
20100318290Method of Operating a Navigation System to Provide Parking Availability Information - A method of operating a navigation system includes obtaining a destination location and identifying a parking facility proximate said destination location. The method further includes transmitting a parking message including a determined parking availability. The determined parking availability is based on historic parking availability information and real time parking availability data. The parking message may include an identification code of said parking facility.12-16-2010

20090030965SYSTEM AND PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR USING OPEN MOBILE ALLIANCE (OMA) ALERTS TO SEND CLIENT COMMANDS/REQUESTS TO AN OMA DM SERVER - Under the present invention, there is provided a system and program product for using Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Device Management (DM) alerts to send client commands/requests to an OMA DM server to initiate management actions on the OMA server. An OMA DM alert is sent from a client device to an OMA DM server to initiate a management action on the OMA DM server. In response to the OMA DM alert, a reply is sent from the OMA DM server to the client device.01-29-2009
20090030979TUNABLE ENGINE AND PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR RESOLVING PREREQUISITES FOR CLIENT DEVICES IN AN OPEN SERVICE GATEWAY INITIATIVE (OSGi) FRAMEWORK - Under the present invention, each client device will have a corresponding configuration that is accessible to the server. Each configuration sets forth various computer resources as well as corresponding normalization and importance factors for the associated client device. If a certain OSGi bundle is to be loaded and run on a particular client device, certain prerequisites (e.g., services packages, etc.) will likely be necessary. Any prerequisites that the client device lacks will be obtained using potential combinations of other OSGi bundles registered with the server. The most appropriate combination of OSGi bundles will be selected from the possible combinations by processing the configuration based on the amounts of computer resources of the client device that will be consumed by each of the possible combinations.01-29-2009
20100036698Charging Resource Usage in a Distributed Computing Environment - A method of allocating costs for resource usage in a distributed computing environment includes creating a standardized template for deploying a desired functionality within the distributed computing environment; the standardized template defining computing resources of the distributed computing environment needed to support the desired functionality, associating fixed costs with the computing resources, and calculating a total allocated cost associated with the standardized template by referencing the fixed costs. A system of allocating costs for resource usage in a distributed computing environment includes a standardized template for deploying a desired functionality within the distributed computing environment, the standardized template defining a plurality of interconnected computing resources, a fixed cost associated with each of the plurality of interconnected computing resources, and a software application configured to sum the fixed costs to produce a total cost for deploying the desired functionality.02-11-2010
20100049851Allocating Resources in a Distributed Computing Environment - A solution in a distributed computing environment is deployed and includes selecting a solution template corresponding to the solution, the solution template defining requirements for a plurality of computing elements; selecting resources within a computing infrastructure which match the requirements; and deploying the solution by configuring the resources according to the solution template.02-25-2010
