20090110698METHOD OF DETERMINING VACCINE COMPLIANCE - A protein (xylanase) has been identified that produces a strong immune response in pigs when added to a vaccine. The protein is added to vaccines at a particular concentration. The protein is delivered to the animal as part of the vaccine and elicits an immune reaction (antibodies are generated by the animal against the compliance marker protein). The antibodies are then detected in sera samples by a diagnostic test, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). In the ELISA compliance marker assay, the marker protein (antigen) in coated onto polystyrene plates and is used to detect antibodies against the marker in sera samples. This combination of marker protein added to vaccines and the ELISA to detect antibodies raised against the marker protein can be used to determine whether a particular animal(s) has been vaccinated. The selected protein is commercially-available, identified as Generally Recognized as Safe by the FDA, and does not cause adverse reactions in animals.04-30-2009

20080308879MOS STRUCTURES WITH CONTACT PROJECTIONS FOR LOWER CONTACT RESISTANCE AND METHODS FOR FABRICATING THE SAME - MOS structures with contact projections for lower contact resistance and methods for fabricating such MOS structures have been provided. In an embodiment, a method comprises providing a semiconductor substrate, fabricating a gate stack on the substrate, and forming a contact projection on the substrate. Ions of a conductivity-determining type are implanted within the substrate using the gate stack as an ion implantation mask to form impurity-doped regions within the substrate. A metal silicide layer is formed on the contact projection and a contact is formed to the metal silicide layer. The contact is in electrical communication with the impurity-doped regions via the contact projection.12-18-2008

20100102363AIR GAP SPACER FORMATION - Miniaturized complex transistor devices are formed with reduced leakage and reduced miller capacitance. Embodiments include transistors having reduced capacitance between the gate electrode and source/drain contact, as by utilizing a low-K dielectric constant sidewall spacer material. An embodiment includes forming a gate electrode on a semiconductor substrate, forming a sidewall spacer on the side surfaces of the gate electrode, forming source/drain regions by ion implantation, forming an interlayer dielectric over the gate electrode, sidewall spacers, and substrate, and forming a source/drain contact through the interlayer dielectric. The sidewall spacers and interlayer dielectric are then removed. A dielectric material, such as a low-K dielectric material, is then deposited in the gap between the gate electrode and the source/drain contact so that an air gap is formed, thereby reducing the parasitic “miller” capacitance.04-29-2010

20090211966Strainer filter - When preparing food that requires rinsing, typically the food is transferred to a strainer, which holds the food while allowing water to passed over the food. This is typically performed in a sink with the water draining into the sink; however, during the rinsing process, food can become lodged in the strainer and cleaning the strainer can be cumbersome. This invention is a filter which can be placed into a standard kitchen strainer and serve as a barrier between the food being rinsed and the physical strainer. This would prevent food from touching the strainer thus easing the cleanup process of the strainer. The strainer filter could be disposed after use, if desired.08-27-2009
