| 20110206136 | MONITORING AND CONTROLLING THE OPERATION OF DEVICES IN A DISTRIBUTED NETWORK OF BROADCAST DEVICES - The invention relates to a system and method for monitoring and controlling the operation of devices in a distributed network of broadcast devices, such as Set Top Boxes (STBs). Such devices typically require periodic updates as new versions of operating software is developed. However, it is not possible to guarantee that all devices that have received an updated software version are able to operate correctly. The system initiates a test for a STB and monitors in real time the state of the STB as the software download occurs. The state of the STB is reported to a system controller and the results are output to a test engineer. Other devices in the broadcast network can be controlled by the controller and various troubleshooting or operational tests performed. | 08-25-2011 |

| 20090057608 | ALKOXYLATE COMPOSITION AND A PROCESS FOR PREPARING THE SAME - A process for the preparation of an alkoxylate composition, said process comprising the steps of: (a) introducing into a reactor system one or more compounds with one or more active hydrogen atoms, selected from the group comprising alkanoic acids, alkanoic amides, alkanoic ethanolamides, alcohols and alkylmercaptans, and a double metal cyanide catalyst; (b) contacting the one or more compounds with one or more active hydrogen atoms and the double metal cyanide catalyst with propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide to form a first product mixture comprising double metal cyanide catalyst and compounds formed by the addition of one of more propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide units to the one or more compounds with one or more active hydrogen atoms; and (c) contacting the first product mixture with ethylene oxide to form a second product mixture comprising compounds formed by the addition of one of more ethylene oxide units to the compounds formed in step (b). | 03-05-2009 |

| 20090077676 | PREMATURELY AGEING MOUSE MODELS FOR THE ROLE OF DNA DAMAGE IN AGEING AND INTERVENTION IN AGEING-RELATED PATHOLOGY - The current invention pertains to a method for screening and discovery of compounds capable of inhibiting, preventing, delaying or reducing genome maintenance disorders and consequences thereof, in particular ageing related symptoms and disorders. The current invention provides a method for screening and discovery of compounds that are capable of inhibiting, preventing, delaying or reducing genome maintenance disorders and consequences thereof. The invention exploits animal models that comprise deficiencies in their genome maintenance systems, such as DNA repair systems, and display premature, enhanced, accelerated or segmental ageing phenotypes. These animal models can be advantageously applied to screen compounds and thereby develop schemes of intervention to treat, delay, inhibit, prevent or cure ageing related symptoms. The current invention thus provides a new and powerful tool to screen aid/or discover therapeutically active compounds to treat ageing related symptoms and diseases. On the same basis it permits screening and discovery of compounds that influence ischemia, reperfusion damage in organ/tissue transplantation, chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation. | 03-19-2009 |
