20080268980Golf club head with concave insert - A hollow golf club head with a concave portion is disclosed and claimed. The club head includes a metallic portion and a light-weight portion, which may be formed of plastic, composite, or the like. The concave portion allows the club designer to make a club head having very thin portions while still maintaining the requisite structural integrity. Convex bulges may optionally be provided to house weight inserts to enhance the playing characteristics of the golf club. The metallic portion of the club head may take on the appearance of a frame, into which several light-weight inserts are positioned. These light-weight inserts may be positioned in the crown, skirt, and sole of the club head. The club head is thus contoured such that its surface area is substantially large. The club head may also be formed of a single, relatively light-weight material.10-30-2008
20090197699INTERCHANGEABLE SHAFT SYSTEM - A golf club incorporating an interchangeable shaft system includes a shaft, a shaft sleeve, a club head and a fastener. The shaft sleeve is coupled to an end of the shaft and is received in a hosel included in the club head. The fastener retains the shaft sleeve in the hosel. Hosel and shaft sleeve alignment features are provided that provide discreet orientations between the shaft and club head.08-06-2009

The club head may be formed by co-molding, eliminating the need for welding or adhesives, freeing mass to be used in more beneficial ways. The club head may be large to increase playability and forgiveness. The club head may include one or more light-weight inserts to manipulate the playing characteristics of the resulting golf club. These inserts may have attachment surfaces that are relatively angled such that the inserts are subjected to compressive forces rather than shear forces upon impact with a golf ball during a golf swing.03-03-2011

20110101059Personal storage device mountable to a bicycle - A personal storage device has been created that is secured at the neck of the bicycle and rests on the cross bar. The personal storage device is composed of a nylon shell reinforced with a semi-dense foam. The personal storage device has an interior cavity for personal storage, but also has a pocket located in the flap of the personal storage device for holding personal media devices in the form of phones and mp3 players. The flap has a transparent window thin enough to allow the cyclist to operate any personal media device located within the pocket through the window. The personal storage device further provides an opening running from the interior cavity to the exterior for cables or cords connected from the personal media device to the cyclist. The entire personal storage device provides a virtual water tight seal for any components stored within.05-05-2011

20090247153AUTOMATIC UPDATING OF A PREFERRED ROAMING LIST STORED IN A VEHICLE TELEMATICS UNIT - A method of updating a preferred roaming list (PRL) onboard a vehicle that wirelessly communicates with a call center and with a communications center over a wireless network. A communication link is established between the vehicle and the call center. A onboard PRL version number is transmitted from the vehicle to the call center where it is compared to a PRL version number stored at the call center. When the call center PRL version number differs from the onboard PRL version number, a PRL update flag is set at the vehicle. Thereafter, a communication link between the vehicle and the communication center is established. An updated PRL is downloaded from the communication center to the vehicle and stored therein, and the PRL update flag is then cleared.10-01-2009
20100245122Unit Configuration/Reactivation Through VDU Services - A system and method for activating an inactive telematics unit provides a group of communications functions to the telematics unit. Initially, a call is received at a call center from a user of the telematics unit, through which subscriber information is obtained. An account data set is created at the call center based on the subscriber information and the call center advisor sets an activation trigger in the telematics unit. When the trigger condition occurs, the telematics unit places a VDU call to the call center. The call center then automatically activates and configures the telematics unit via the VDU call to provide the group of one or more communications functions.09-30-2010
