20090088458N-(Pyridin-4-Yl)-2-Phenylbutanamides as Androgen Receptor Modulators - Compounds of structural formula I are modulators of the androgen receptor (AR) in a tissue selective manner. These compounds are useful in the enhancement of weakened muscle tone and the treatment of conditions caused by androgen deficiency or which can be ameliorated by androgen administration, including osteoporosis, osteopenia, glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis, periodontal disease, bone fracture, bone damage following bone reconstructive surgery, sarcopenia, frailty, aging skin, male hypogonadism, postmenopausal symptoms in women, atherosclerosis, hypercholesterolemia, hyperlipidemia, obesity, aplastic anemia and other hematopoietic disorders, inflammatory arthritis and joint repair, HIV-wasting, prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), abdominal adiposity, metabolic syndrome, type II diabetes, cancer cachexia, Alzheimer's disease, muscular dystrophies, cognitive decline, sexual dysfunction, sleep apnea, depression, premature ovarian failure, and autoimmune disease, alone or in combination with other active agents.04-02-2009
20090149467Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors - The present invention relates to pyridinyloxy- and pyrimidinyloxyindole derivatives, that are useful for treating cellular proliferative diseases, for treating disorders associated with MET activity, and for inhibiting the receptor tyrosine kinase MET. The invention also related to compositions which comprise these compounds, and methods of using them to treat cancer in mammals.06-11-2009
20100267633N-(4-Oxo-3,4-Dihydroquinazolin-2Yl) Butanamides as Androgen Receptor Modulators - The invention relates to substituted N-(4-oxo-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-2-yl)butanamid derivatives which modulate androgen receptors to treat conditions such as: osteoporosis, peridontal disease, bone fracture, frailty, and sarcopenia.10-21-2010

20090297787Method/Apparatus for Forming a Coated Optical Lens - The invention relates to the formation of optical lens including a coating, typically, an anti-reflective (AR) coating which provides improved characteristics of the lens. The invention provides for a method and apparatus for forming the coated lens in which there is provided a sheet material with the coating applied to at least one surface thereof. At least part of the sheet material is then placed into a mold and located so as to form an external surface of the lens, the base of which is formed by introducing, typically by injection, a material into the mold and during which molding process the material and sheet material join together to form the optical lens with the coating.12-03-2009

20110157915PDT Magnifier Camera Illumination - A device that enlarges text and images to enable a low vision person to see the text and images includes a hollow structure including a top housing and a bottom housing that are connected to one another. A camera aperture is formed in the bottom housing and a transparent light guide lens is disposed in closing relation to the camera aperture so that all light entering the camera aperture must first pass through the light guide lens. A cavity formed in the light guide lens is bounded by walls that are positioned at a critical angle. Light-emitting diodes are positioned at critical locations about the periphery of the light guide lens to illuminate the object being viewed.06-30-2011

20090263289Multi-well rotary synthesizer - An apparatus for synthesizing polymer chains includes a controller, a plurality of precision fit vials circularly arranged in multiple banks on a cartridge, a drain corresponding to each bank of vials, a chamber bowl, a plurality of valves for delivering reagents to selective vials, and a waste tube system for purging material from the vials. A purging operation can be selectively performed on one or more of the banks of vials. The multiple banks of valves provide an additional number of reagent choices while operating in a serial mode and faster reagent distribution while operating in a parallel mode. The plurality of vials are stored in the cartridge and are divided among individual banks wherein each bank of vials has a corresponding drain. There is at least one waste tube system for expelling the reagent solution from vials within a particular bank of vials when the waste tube system is coupled to the corresponding drain. The cartridge holding the plurality of vials rotates relative to the stationary banks of valves and the waste tube system. The controller rotates the cartridge and operates the banks of valves and the waste tube system in response to the required sequence of dispensing various reagent solutions and flushing appropriate vials in order to form the desired polymer chain within each vial.10-22-2009
