20090264033DEEP WATER HYDROCARBON TRANSFER SYSTEM - System of a hydrocarbon transfer buoy and a vessel, the buoy having a length of at least 50 m and a length-to-width ratio of at least 10:1, and including a submerged buoyancy member having a length of at least 30 m and being situated at a depth of at least 10 m below water level, another support frame protecting above water level being connected to the top of the buoyancy member and carrying a support deck and a mooring buoy connector for attaching to a mooring arm connector of the vessel, which mooring arm connector is situated on an arm projecting outboard from the vessel's hull, the buoy being anchored to the sea bed via anchor lines which extend at an angle to a vertical direction, at least one hydrocarbon riser being attached to the buoy. The buoyancy member being connected to the sea bed via at least one substantially vertical taut tendon. The riser has a length of at least 500 m, and includes a steel riser part attached to the buoy, the riser extending up to the mooring buoy connector and being closable by a valve, the riser at its end including a connecting member for releasably attaching to a duct on the mooring arm connector.10-22-2009

20100090099Method and apparatus of uniform gas-phase molecular matrix deposition for imaging mass spectrometry - Disclosed are apparatus and methods for depositing solvent-free molecules on surfaces of samples, with particular application to imaging mass spectrometry. A vacuum chamber is configured to have controllable matrix translation apparatus for controlling the position of one or more solvent-free matrices within the chamber. Sublimation apparatus is used to sublimate molecules from the solid phase matrices. One or more samples are placed separately from the solvent-free matrices within the chamber. Condensation apparatus individually cools the samples to deposit sublimated molecules on the samples. Controllable sample translation apparatus is used to control the position of the samples within the chamber. Rotatable sample holding apparatus may be used to hold and move the samples to allow deposition of molecules on multiple samples at substantially the same time. Rotatable matrix holding apparatus may also be used to hold and move a plurality of matrices to create a homogenous mixture of molecules that are deposited onto one or more samples. As surface characterization system may be used to monitor deposition of the molecules to determine their thickness and roughness. A computer may be configured to control the matrix translation apparatus, the sublimation apparatus, the condensation apparatus, and the sample translation apparatus to provide for automated deposition of solvent-free molecules on the samples.04-15-2010

20110229338COMPRESSOR WHEEL - A compressor wheel for a turbocharger comprising a central hub and a plurality of impeller blades extending outwardly from the hub. Each of the blades defines a leading edge, a trailing edge and a root portion which connects the blade to the hub. At least one of the blades has a surface provided with a variable thickness surface layer of a ceramic material. The leading edge of the blade is provided with a thicker surface layer of the ceramic material than the trailing edge of the blade, the root portion of the blade, or both the trailing edge and root portion of the blade.09-22-2011

20100005692RE-ATTACHABLE CONTAINER IDENTIFIERS - This invention is a product for identifying wine transferred into glasses from a wine bottle by using removable labels that are packaged along with the wine bottle's labels. The invention allows one to identify the wine once it is poured into a glass and/or distinguish among multiple wine glasses into which the same wine is poured. Several embodiments of the invention are particularly suited to the practice of wine tasting, where it is important to identify the wine poured into a glass as well as distinguish between the glasses of different tasters.01-14-2010
