20120036333TRIANGULAR ASYNCHRONOUS REPLICATION - Storing recovery data includes providing chunks of data to a remote destination, where each chunk of data represents data written before a first time and after a second time and where the second time for one of the particular chunks corresponds to a first time for a subsequent one of the particular chunks, providing synchronous data to a local destination, and providing an indicator to the local destination in connection with creation of a new chunk of data for storage at the remote destination. The local destination may maintain a plurality of maps, where each of the maps associates synchronous data being provided thereto with a specific chunk of data. In response to receiving an indicator in connection with creation of a new chunk of data, the local destination may point to a new map. There may be two maps or more than two maps.02-09-2012

20110180041GENSET ENGINE USING AN ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM INTEGRATING AN ALCOHOL SENSOR - An open or closed loop EFI system integrating an alcohol sensor is provided on a genset engine. The EFI system provides acceptable engine performance and efficiency when using fuels or fuel blends over a wide band and when starting from a cold state, i.e., starting the engine after the engine has not run for a relatively long period of time. The alcohol sensor enables acceptable operation while the genset engine is cold. The alcohol sensor sends data to the electronic control unit (ECU) and this data, as well as data provided by other sensors that may be available such as an air flow sensor, is used to determine the optimal air-to-fuel ratio (AFR). The ECU actuates the fuel injector which sends the correct amount of atomized fuel to mix with the air flow to be combusted. The fuel mixture, at the requested AFR, enables the engine to start and operate efficiently from a cold state even if the fuel blend has been changed from a previous operation of the engine.07-28-2011

20080253889VERTICAL AXIS WIND TURBINES - A vertical axis wind turbine is described. The wind turbine can include a top ring, a middle ring and a lower ring, wherein a plurality of vertical airfoils are disposed between the rings. For example, three vertical airfoils can be attached between the upper ring and the middle ring. In addition, three more vertical airfoils can be attached between the lower ring and the middle ring. When wind contacts the vertically arranged airfoils the rings begin to spin. By connecting the rings to a center pole which spins an alternator, electricity can be generated from wind.10-16-2008
20080272666Arcuate coil winding and assembly for axial gap Electro-Dynamo Machines (EDM) - An axial gap EDM deploys as a stator coils a series of two parallel serpentine windings that each circumscribe an arc segment of a circle. Each arc segment that forms the stator winding assembly is powered as a separate phase. The two winding are readily formed by shaping one or more wire segment. Preferably the parallel winding are arranged to overlap with a half period rotational offset such that the radial directed serpentine segments of that are disposed above and below the stator disk are interlaced when viewed in projection through the disk. In one embodiment, each series of serpentine winding are separated by a gap so that they can be inserted on the stator disk from the edge. A separate rotor disk is adjacent each side of this stator disk. In another embodiment, each series of serpentine winding are separated by a gap, so they can be inserted to surround a single rotor disk which has two series of magnets disposed on opposite sides.11-06-2008

20090200889Nested Serpentine Winding for an Axial Gap Electric Dynamo Machine - The stator of an axial gap dynamoelectric machine comprises two or more serpentine coil arrays that are formed form a continuous loop of insulated wire. The serpentine coils are deflected in at least some of the tangential components so the place radial segments disposed to generate a Lorenz force with respect to the rotor magnets in a common plane, reducing the gap there between.08-13-2009
20090200890Winding For An Axial Gap Electric Dynamo Machine - The stator of an axial gap dynamoelectric machine has at least one substantially planar coil arrays formed by joining two or more sub-coils. Each sub-coil has a serpentine path about the stator perimeter that includes radial segments disposed to generate a Lorenz force with respect to the rotor magnets. The radial segments of the serpentine path joined by alternating inner and outer tangential segments. Each sub-coil starts with a proximal end at an outer tangential segments and a distal end about or within an inner perimeter of the inner tangential segments. Each sub-coil is joined at the distal end with another sub-coil to form the winding coil such that the proximal ends of the sub-coils constitute the two terminals of the planar coil array. This arrangement conveniently places both terminals of the planar coil array at the outer perimeter of the stator while also raising the winding inductance to a level more compatible with conventional motor power supplies.08-13-2009

Preferably the parallel winding are arranged to overlap with a half period rotational offset such that the radial directed serpentine segments of that are disposed above and below the stator disk are interlaced when viewed in projection through the disk. 20110148116Antenna Mounted Wind Power Generator - A cellular communication tower is adapted to support a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) that includes a generator mechanism. The signal and power cable for the communication antennas run through the central axis or bore of the generator. The blades of the VAWT are disposed so as to avoid interferences with communication signals. The tower preferably deploys an open truss construction to avoid the impact of periodic pressure pulse as the turning blades shift out of alignment from shading the tower. Thus, with an open truss tower the turbine blades can be a larger size and still not cause such pressure pulses.06-23-2011
20110158817VERTICAL AXIS WIND TURBINE AIRFOIL - A vertical axis wind turbine airfoil is described. The wind turbine airfoil can include a leading edge, a trailing edge, an upper curved surface, a lower curved surface, and a centerline running between the upper surface and the lower surface and from the leading edge to the trailing edge. The airfoil can be configured so that the distance between the centerline and the upper surface is the same as the distance between the centerline and the lower surface at all points along the length of the airfoil. A plurality of such airfoils can be included in a vertical axis wind turbine. These airfoils can be vertically disposed and can rotate about a vertical axis.06-30-2011
