20100043801Minimally invasive nasal cannula - A light weight securable nasal cannula and system including the nasal cannula for delivering therapeutic gas, e.g., oxygen, to the nostrils of a patient. The nasal cannula may include a hollow body having at least one inhale aperture defined therein and at least one nasal insert therein. Each nasal insert may include a nasal insert tube associated with the nasal insert of the body. Each nasal insert may further include at least one exhale aperture adjacent to the nasal insert tube, wherein each of the exhale apertures, either alone or in combination, has a cross-sectional area greater than a cross-sectional area of the nasal insert tube. Each nasal insert may further include an annular sleeve surrounding the nasal insert tube and the at least one exhale aperture, the annular sleeve including a contact surface formed thereon and configured for placement against an inside surface of the nostril to achieve a friction fit.02-25-2010

20090288956System For Recycling Printed Circuit Boards - A process for recycling printed circuit boards includes pyrolyzing a number printed circuit boards to from an ash. Metals form the circuit boards are separated from the ash by density separation techniques. The metals are formed into a slurry electrode. The slurry electrode and a deposition electrode are placed in an electrolyte bath and the metals are electrorefined to form bars of metal. The slurry electrode is made by combining powderized metals with carbon powder and an ionic liquid to form an electrode paste. The electrode paste is placed inside a container with a screen to form the slurry electrode.11-26-2009

20090201921WIDE AREA COMMUNICATION NETWORKING - A communications network is disclosed and includes a broadband communication line having a first derived voice channel and a second derived voice channel, wherein the first and second derived voice channels are established as a function of an available bandwidth associated with the broadband communication line. The communication network further includes a residential gateway in communication with the broadband communication line. The residential gateway includes a switch, a network interface device in communication with the switch, and wherein the switch is configured to select at least one of the first or second derived voice channels for voice communication over the broadband communication line as a function of the available bandwidth.08-13-2009

20080224422Resilient Seal - The present invention is directed to a resilient, annular, seal. The annular seal has a generally ā€œJā€ shaped or hook-shaped cross-section (09-18-2008
20090322036GAS TURBINE NOZZLE SEALS FOR 2000 DEGREE F GAS CONTAINMENT - A seal for containment of fluids or gases during high temperature applications, separating a high pressure area on one side from a low pressure area on an opposite side, and formed to convert axial displacements into radial movements eliminating axial strains, having at least one engaging, conical ring structure with a tapering arcuate side facing radially away from the high pressure side. The conical ring structure has a side opposite the tapering side that is cylindrical, and a cylindrical diameter that is concentric with the arcuate side. The conical ring structure has an axial distal end with a larger diameter than its opposite end for engaging a flat annular surface on an adjacent structural member to form the seal. A heat-destructible wax spacer may be used for insertion within the clearance gap to locate the seal concentrically with the gland for ease of assembly.12-31-2009
20100148447BI-DIRECTIONAL WELLHEAD SEAL - A liquid and gas tight bi-directional metal frustro-conical seal is energized by compression between planar, annular faces causing its inner and outer diameters to sealingly engage opposing cylindrical surfaces of inner and outer metal pipes. The contact forces between the concentric sealing surfaces are high in order to locally deform the softer metal and eliminate leakage paths. The sealing ring is backed-up by a similar ring that is reduced in cross-sectional width, such that when compressed the ring does not engage the inner and outer cylindrical surfaces. The second ring is nested with and directly below the sealing ring, and equally axially compressed when the joint is assembled. When the pipe joints are disassembled, the second ring serves to restore the seal ring to its original, deeper frustro-conical shape, allowing the pipe joints to be easily separated for reuse of the piping in a different location.06-17-2010
20100181734Metal seals for weld-deformed high temperature pneumatic ducting joints - A single-ply sheet metal seal ring with a convoluted, V/E-shaped cross-section having planar-circumferential flexibility is shown to be more capable of conforming to the sealing face contours of warped, weld-deformed flanges than thin layer, multiple-ply seals developed to replace earlier E-shaped seals for this purpose. The basis of the improved flexibility of the new seal lies mainly in the discovery of geometric relationships that permit a reduction in the thickness of the sheet material employed in the construction of the seal while maintaining its pressure containing capabilities.07-22-2010
20100259016Resilient Seal - The present invention is directed to a resilient, annular, seal. In one embodiment, the annular axial seal comprises a first linear section consisting of a first end and a second end, a first side in a first plane and an opposite second side in a second plane. The second plane is substantially parallel to the first plane, wherein the first linear section does not have any inflection points formed therein. The annular axial seal further comprises a first portion contiguous with the first end of the first linear section. The first portion is curved with respect to the first linear section and in accordance with a first predetermined radius such that the first portion breaks the first plane. The first portion extends to a first distal end. The annular axial seal further comprises a second portion contiguous with the second end of the first linear section. The second portion comprises a curved portion that is contiguous with the second end of the first linear section and which curls in accordance with a second predetermined radius, a second linear section contiguous with the curved portion such that the curved portion is between the first linear section and the second linear section, and a curved end portion contiguous with the second linear section such that the second linear section is between the curved portion and the curved end portion. The curved end portion extends to a second distal end. The curved end portion curls inward in accordance with a third predetermined radius such that the second distal end is located across from the first side of said first linear section by a predetermined distance and the first and second distal ends do not directly face each other.10-14-2010
20110057394SEAL - A seal is inserted into a space to be sealed. First and second end portions of the seal are engaged with first and second end surfaces of the space. The seal is compressed between the first and second end surfaces. The compression strains the seal. The strain includes the rotation of a cross-section of the seal so as to bias the seal into engagement with a surface forming one of an inboard surface and an outboard surface of the space.03-10-2011
