20090217054SECURE SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE ASSOCIATION TECHNIQUE - In an embodiment, authenticated hardware and authenticated software are cryptographically binded using symmetric and asymmetric cryptography. Cryptographically binding the hardware and software ensures that original equipment manufacturer (OEM) hardware will only run OEM software. Cryptographically binding the hardware and software protects the OEM binary code so it will only run on the OEM hardware and cannot be replicated or altered to operate on unauthorized hardware. This cryptographic binding technique is referred to herein as secure software and hardware association (SSHA).08-27-2009
20110185203METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR POWER CONTROL - Embodiments of the present invention relate to limiting maximum power dissipation occurred in a processor. Therefore, when an application that requires excessive amounts of power is being executed, the execution of the application may be prevented to reduce dissipated or consumed power. Example embodiments may stall the issue or execution of instructions by the processor, allowing software or hardware to reduce the power of an application by imposing a decrease in the performance of the application.07-28-2011
20120011373System and Method for Secure Device Key Storage - Disclosed are systems and methods for protecting secret device keys, such as High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) device keys. Instead of storing secret device keys in the plain, a security algorithm and one or more protection keys are stored on the device. The security algorithm is applied to the secret device keys and the one or more protection keys to produce encrypted secret device keys. The encrypted secret device keys are then stored either on chip or off-chip.01-12-2012
20120027199SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENABLING ACCESS TO A PROTECTED HARDWARE RESOURCE - Systems and methods are disclosed for enabling access to a protected hardware resource. A hardware component includes at least one protected hardware resource. A unique hardware ID and a unique cryptographically secure or randomly generated enable value (EV) are integrated in the hardware component at the time of manufacturing. At run-time, special software generates or receives from an external source an enable register (ER) value and a comparison is made with the stored enable value. If the ER value and the EV match, access to the protected hardware resource is allowed.02-02-2012

20090238430MRI ACQUISITION USING SENSE AND HIGHLY UNDERSAMPLED FOURIER SPACE SAMPLING - An MRI system produces a three-dimensional image by acquiring NMR signals that fully sample a central region of k-space and partially sample peripheral region of k-space. Specifically, k-space is arranged as a three-dimensional (3D) Cartesian grid of points that is divided into a central region of k-space and a peripheral region of k-space. Points are selected in k-space within a plurality of radial vanes that extend radially outward from the central region of k-space through the peripheral region of k-space as viewed in a plane sampled by two phase encoding gradients to create a plurality of gaps between the radial vanes that is substantially a factor of N times greater in area than the radial vanes. Using an MRI system having arrays of RF receiver coils, NMR signals are acquired from a subject to fully sample the central region of the 3D k-space and undersample the peripheral region of k-space by only sampling k-space within the plurality of radial vanes. An image of the subject is reconstructed using the acquired NMR signals.09-24-2009

20090298030Use of Ultrasound Imaging equipment in classroom as a teaching aid - The inventive process named SWITCH is a unique teaching aid for students and teachers of biology to help them better understand the basic concepts and remove the ambiguities left behind by traditional teaching methods. It utilizes a portable ultrasound machine in a class room setting to obtain real time images of internal organs of human/animal body and project them on a big screen while the audience watches. The images so produced are not only vivid and multidimensional but also carry information like organ size, shape, texture, position and physical relationship to other organs in the body. In case of heart and blood vessels the real time images demonstrate exact function of chambers and valves and flow of blood in color from arterial to venous tree. The technique aims at fortifying truthful concepts of systems in a living body from the very basic to advanced levels of biology education. It has been developed in accordance with curricular guidelines for various levels and therefore has different modules dedicated to those levels (high school, colleges, universities, technical training institutes and other professional training institutions). Modules are based on chapters of respective recommended text books and can be utilized at the beginning, during or at the end of a chapter.12-03-2009
