20100218039METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR IMPLEMENTING SHARED DISK ARRAY MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS - Multiple Array Management Functions (AMFs) are connected to multiple redundancy groups over a storage area network (SAN), such as a fiber-channel based SAN. The multiple AMFs share management responsibility of the redundancy groups, each of which typically includes multiple resources spread over multiple disks. The AMFs provide concurrent access to the redundancy groups for associated host systems. When a host requests an AMF to perform an operation on a resource, the AMF synchronizes with the other AMFs sharing control of the redundancy group that includes the resource to be operated on, so as to obtain access to the resource. While performing the operation, the AMF send replication data and state information associated with the resource such that if the AMF fails, any of the other AMFs are able to complete the operation and maintain data reliability and coherency.08-26-2010

20090138157Suspension device and method for use with a vehicle - A suspension device has in- and out-configurations for use with a vehicle, including means for damping and/or spring action, the damping and/or spring action being controllable, wherein the controllability of the damping and/or spring action includes a locked or substantially locked state in the out-configuration. A method of using the suspension device with a vehicle is also provided.05-28-2009

20090249361Automated recovery process initiation for data consumers of a common information model (CIM) managed component - A Common Information Model (CIM) agent notifies a CIM consumer that the CIM agent is able to receive notifications from the CIM consumer relating to errors within data relating to a CIM managed component and sent by the CIM agent to the CIM consumer. The CIM consumer receives the data relating to the CIM managed component from the CIM agent. The CIM managed component is a hardware component or a component. In response to the CIM consumer detecting that the data relating to the CIM managed component contains errors, the CIM consumer notifies the CIM agent. In response, the CIM agent initiates an automated recovery process in relation to the CIM managed component, without manual user interaction. The CIM agent may then continue to send data relating to the CIM managed component to the CIM consumer.10-01-2009
20100318597Generating hints for more optimal processing of requests for information within an environment in which resources are abstracted using a model - An information technology (IT) environment includes IT managed resources in which the resources are abstracted using a model. In response to determining that a request for information received from a client is non-optimal in terms of processing the request, a first hint can be constructed that indicates how future requests are to be formulated by the client so that they are more optimal in terms of processing the future requests. In response to determining that the information is internally structured non-optimally in terms of processing the request, a second hint can be constructed that indicates how the information is to be internally structured more optimally in terms of processing future requests. In response to determining that processing the request will be non-optimal, a third hint can be constructed relating to a characteristic that results in non-optimal processing of the request, and logged within a hint log for offline analysis.12-16-2010

20090248180Automatic Backlash Estimation - A method is disclosed for automatic estimation of backlash in a control system which includes a controller and a process to be controlled, wherein said controller is capable of performing integrating control of said process using one or more controller parameters to control a process output signal of said process with respect to a setpoint value thereof. The method involves monitoring said process output signal to determine a value reflecting momentary differences between setpoint value and actual value of said process output signal during a time interval; and estimating the backlash from said determined value and said one or more controller parameters.10-01-2009
