The electrical storage system comprises an ultracapacitor pack or a battery pack. The electric motor driving each cutting unit comprises a brushless motor having an integrated gear reduction stage. In addition, the motor includes an integrated electronics housing in which the electronics for controlling and powering the motor are packaged. The cutting units are lifted out of engagement with the ground by a lift and lower system comprising an electric/hydraulic actuator that is driven only during lifting of the cutting units. The cutting units are lowered by releasing fluid pressure in the lift and lower system and permitting the force of gravity to lower the cutting units.11-27-2008

20090114522METHOD OF MINIMIZING ALDEHYDE-BASED IMPURITIES IN A PROCESS STREAM - Oxidation of an alkane to an alkanone in a process stream forms aldehyde-based impurities. A method of minimizing the aldehyde-based impurities introduces an amine into the process stream to minimize the aldehyde-based impurities. The amine interacts with the alkanone and the aldehyde-based impurities thereby forming heavy products. The method separates the heavy products from the alkanones to reduce a level of the aldehyde-based impurities. The process stream preferably includes cyclohexyl ketone as the alkanone and n-hexanal as the aldehyde-based impurity. The method is typically involved in synthesis of a caprolactam.05-07-2009

20110065885POLYISOCYANURATE ELASTOMER AND A COMPOSITION FOR PRODUCING SAME - A polyisocyanurate elastomer is produced from a composition. The composition comprises an isocyanate-reactive component and an isocyanate component. The isocyanate-reactive component comprises a diol having at least one ether group and further comprises at least one catalyst. The isocyanate-reactive component of the composition is substantially free of polyols. The isocyanate component comprises diphenylmethane diisocyanate. A method of producing the isocyanurate elastomer comprises the steps of providing the isocyanate-reactive component, providing the isocyanate component, mixing the isocyanate-reactive component and the isocyanate component to produce a reaction intermediary, and curing the reaction intermediary.03-17-2011

20110131934METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COMPACTING PRODUCT - A method for compacting a slug of product and apparatus for accomplishing the same. The invention describes collecting weighed product in an intermediate settling device to form a compact slug of product. The device can comprise a single settling chamber or can comprise multiple settling chambers which are axially rotatable. The slug can be compacting by jostling and/or vibrating the settling device. Thereafter, the product is discharged to a packaging apparatus. Because the product in the final package is denser, a smaller package can be utilized reducing manufacturing and shipping costs.06-09-2011

20100294363Coated Polyester Film For Lamination to Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate Layers - A bonding material is described that is well suited to bonding polymer films, such as polyester films, to other substrates. In one embodiment, for instance, the bonding material can be used to bond a polyester film to a layer containing an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer to form a backing material for a photovoltaic device. The bonding material generally comprises a block copolymer combined with a coupling agent. The block copolymer generally contains a polyester segment in combination with a different polymer segment. The different polymer segment may comprise, for instance, polyethylene glycol polymer blocks. The coupling agent, on the other hand, can comprise a functional silane. The polyester segments on the block copolymer attach to the polyester film, while the silane coupling agent reacts with the second polymer blocks and reacts with a constitutent in an adjacent layer.11-25-2010
