20090195208APERTURE CLOSURE MEMBER CONTROL ARRANGEMENTS - An aperture closure member control arrangement includes a disc which rotates as the aperture closure member moves. The disc has a ring of teeth. A sensor, such as a Hall effect sensor and permanent magnet, detect the passage of teeth as a cyclic waveform of amplitude and frequency determined by the spacing of the teeth, and the speed of rotation of the disc. An irregularity in the form of a missing tooth creates an irregularity in the output of the sensor, in the form of a pulse of greater amplitude and lower frequency. Accordingly, pulses from the irregularity can be discriminated and counted to provide a coarse indication of position, or pulses from the teeth can be counted, to provide a fine indication.08-06-2009
20090205790DRIVE ARRANGEMENT - A wheel turns about a fixed shaft to reel in or pay out an aperture closure member. A motor provides drive to the wheel through a belt. The motor is mounted on a slider plate which can slide relative to a fixed plate, which is secured to the shaft. As the slider plate slides away from the shaft, the belt comes into tension allowing the motor to drive the wheel.08-20-2009

20100143333METHOD OF TREATING DIABETES - The present invention relates to a method for treating a subject having or at risk of a diabetes-related disorder. In a preferred embodiment, the method involves increasing the level or activity of Hypoxia Induced Factor 1 (HIF-1 α) in pancreatic-β-cells or insulin-sensitive tissues in the subject by administering to the subject an inhibitor of a protein that decreases the level or activity of HIF-1α. The present invention also relates to a method of transplanting pancreatic islet cells in a subject.06-10-2010
20110003013METHOD OF INCREASING METABOLISM - The present invention provides a method for increasing metabolism and/or energy expenditure in a subject, e.g., to treat or prevent obesity and/or a related condition and/or to reduce adiposity, the method comprising increasing the level and/or activity of Hypoxia Induced Factor 1α (HIF-1α) in a cell, tissue or organ of the subject, thereby increasing metabolism in the subject. The present invention also provides a method for increasing metabolism in a subject, the method comprising administering an iron chelating agent to the subject, thereby increasing metabolism in the subject.01-06-2011

20110212704SYSTEM AND METHOD TO MEASURE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CLICK TO CALL ADVERTISEMENT - Provided is a method and system for measuring the effectiveness of click to call advertisements or for gathering information from calls made using a click to call service. An agent residing on a user's mobile device monitors communications initiated through click to call advertisements on a mobile device. This agent logs the information gathered from the monitored communications. This information may then be communicated to a remote server. The remote server receives similar logged information from other mobile devices. This collected information can then be used to target or improve targeting of advertisements. The logged information from a plurality of mobile devices for a particular advertised click to call service may be sent to the provider of that service. The provider may then use that information to better target their advertisements or to measure the success of certain click to call advertisements.09-01-2011
