20100303265ENHANCING USER EXPERIENCE IN AUDIO-VISUAL SYSTEMS EMPLOYING STEREOSCOPIC DISPLAY AND DIRECTIONAL AUDIO - An audio-visual system providing a directional audio stream corresponding to an element in a same direction the element is rendered in a stereoscopic display. As a result, the audio stream may be audible only in portion of an area in the direction the element is rendered. Developers of audio-visual content can creatively use such a feature to enhance user experience as suited in the specific environment. In an embodiment, an object data provided for an element specifies whether the directional audio is to be sent in the same direction the element is rendered. Accordingly, the audio and rendered direction may be aligned only for some of the elements in a scene. In a scenario in which the audio-visual system corresponds to a game console, user interaction may determine the direction of an element, and thus both visual and audio directions are accordingly set.12-02-2010
20100309197INTERACTION OF STEREOSCOPIC OBJECTS WITH PHYSICAL OBJECTS IN VIEWING AREA - Changing the path of a virtual object displayed in a stereographic form when a physical object is encountered in the path of the virtual object. Sensors may be used to identify the location of physical objects present in an area of interest (in the viewing area), and the determined location information may be used to determine whether a physical object is present in the path of a virtual object. In an embodiment, a gaming system receives the location information and determines whether a “collision” would occur. In an alternative embodiment, the sensor receives information of the original path of the virtual object, determines the new path based on location information and sends back the new path information to the gaming system.12-09-2010
20110006610RESONANT INDUCTION TO POWER A GRAPHICS PROCESSING UNIT - A method, system and an apparatus of resonant induction to power a graphics processing unit (GPU) are disclosed. In one embodiment, a resonant induction system is described. The resonant induction system includes a transmitter circuit tuned to a resonant frequency. The transmitter circuit generates a non-radiative magnetic field when a control current is passed through the transmitter circuit. The resonant induction system also includes a receiver circuit, resonantly coupled to the non-radiative magnetic field generated by the transmitter circuit, and tuned to the resonant frequency of the transmitter circuit. The receiver circuit is located in a GPU. The transmitter circuit and the receiver circuit are resonantly coupled to each other at the resonant frequency. A control current source supplies the control current to the transmitter circuit. A feedback module may be communicatively coupled to the GPU to determine a power requirement of a particular computer graphics application.01-13-2011

20110006997LUMINOUS POWER CONTROL OF A LIGHT SOURCE OF A MULTIMEDIA PROCESSING SYSTEM - A method, apparatus, and system of luminous power control of a light source of a multimedia processing system are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method is described. The method includes capturing a digital image of a face of a user. The method also includes applying, with a processor, an algorithm capable of detecting a digital facial feature of the face of the user based on one or more markers of the digital image. In addition, the method includes determining whether the digital image includes the digital facial feature according to the marker. The method further includes causing a light source to illuminate an electronic display at an active-mode luminous power level that includes a luminous power level different than a power-saving mode luminous power level of the light source when the digital image includes the digital facial feature.01-13-2011

20110009195CONFIGURABLE REPRESENTATION OF A VIRTUAL BUTTON ON A GAME CONTROLLER TOUCH SCREEN - A method, a system and an apparatus of a configurable representation of a virtual button on a game controller touch screen are disclosed. In one aspect, a graphical representation of a virtual control button of a video game is rendered with a game controller processor in a region of a touch screen of a game controller. The rendering of the virtual control button is executed according to a layout command from a video game system. The graphical representation of the virtual control button is associated with another region of the touch screen. A signal that includes the association of the other region with the graphical representation of the virtual control button is communicated to the video game system. The video game system generates a layout update command.01-13-2011

20080266326AUTOMATIC IMAGE REORIENTATION - Method for automatic image reorientation is disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes reorienting a displayed image in response to a change in relative orientation of a viewer image with respect to a reference image. The reorientation is performed to compensate, at least partially, for the change in relative orientation of the viewer image.10-30-2008
20080316299VIRTUAL STEREOSCOPIC CAMERA - The subject matter relates to a virtual stereoscopic camera for displaying 3D images. In one implementation, left and right perspectives of a source are captured by image capturing portions. The image capturing portions include an array of image capturing elements that are interspersed with an array of display elements in a display area. The image capturing elements are confined within limited portions of the display area and are separated by an offset distance. The captured left and right perspectives are synthesized so as to generate an image that is capable of being viewed in 3D.12-25-2008
20090046863REMOTE-CONTROL DEVICE WITH DIRECTIONAL AUDIO SYSTEM - A method of directing an audio signal to an intended user by a remote-control device coupled to an audio/video device is described. The remote-control device sends an instruction to the audio/video device to transmit an audio signal. The remote-control device receives the audio signal and process the audio signal to generate a directional audio. The directional audio is then routed to an intended user such that the directional audio signal is audible to the intended user, other recipients in the vicinity.02-19-2009
20090088246INTERACTIVE SOUND SYNTHESIS - The subject matter relates to a method for synthesizing game related sound using the laws of physics. In one implementation, one or more interactions between game elements within a game environment are identified. Properties associated with each of the gaming element are determined and parameters of the interactions are calculated. Based on these parameters and the properties of the elements, stored sound samples are used to produce appropriate sound.04-02-2009
20090108679WIRELESS ENERGY TRANSFER - Method for wireless energy transfer is disclosed. According to an embodiment, the method includes transferring electrical energy from one electronic device to another electronic device with the help of electromagnetic waves. An electronic device that requires electrical energy can get energy transferred from one or more other electronic devices present in its vicinity. The electrical energy being transferred can be used to charge the battery of the electronic device.04-30-2009
