20100067326CETACEAN PROTECTION SYSTEM - An embodiment according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure for conducting a marine survey includes towing a survey spread comprising a plurality of receivers and an energy source along a selected course; emitting a signal from an energy source; receiving data from the plurality of receivers; detecting a cetacean from the received data; positioning the detected cetacean; limiting contact with the detected cetacean; and conducting a marine survey.03-18-2010
20100103771PROVIDING A SURVEY CARRIER STRUCTURE HAVING EQUIDISTANT SURVEY SENSORS - A marine survey carrier structure includes sensor assemblies each containing a corresponding set of survey sensors, and an equipment assembly in-line with two of the sensor assemblies. The equipment assembly contains at least one survey sensor to enable the survey sensors along a length of the marine survey carrier structure to be regularly spaced.04-29-2010
20100157728HANDLING EQUIPMENT FAILURE IN A SUBTERRANEAN SURVEY DATA ACQUISITION NETWORK - A technique includes generating a data stream that contains data acquired by nodes of a subterranean survey data acquisition network and introducing data into the data stream, which describes an equipment failure that occurred in the network.06-24-2010
20100172207DETERMINING THE INLINE RELATIONSHIP OF NETWORK NODES IN A SUBTERRANEAN SURVEY DATA ACQUISTION NETWORK - A system includes a subterranean survey data acquisition network and a processor. The network has first nodes that are distributed along a length of the network between a first end of the network and a second end of the network. Each of the first nodes is capable of being either in a state in which the first node is transparent to the network or in a state in which the first node is visible to the network. The processor is adapted to communicate with the closest visible first node relative to the first end, and the processor is adapted to, based on the communication, determine whether the closest visible first node is the closest first node of all of the first nodes relative to the first end.07-08-2010

20110066842SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PLATFORM ACTIVATION - A platform discrimination indication register is stored in a wireless network card. This register holds a platform discrimination indication that indicates whether the wireless network card can be used to transfer data with notebook computers or whether the wireless network card is restricted to transferring data from a personal digital assistant or defined set of restricted devices. The platform discrimination indication can be upgraded using a key value obtained from an Internet site. This key value is limited to a specific wireless network card because of the use of a unique electronic I.D. An Internet site encrypts the electronic I.D. to produce the first key, such as a platform activation key (PAK). This first key is then decrypted at the personal data device in order to obtain a unique calculated I.D. value. If the calculated I.D. value matches the electronic I.D. value on the wireless network card, then the platform discrimination indication is altered (upgraded), allowing the operation of the wireless network card with notebook computers.03-17-2011
