20090145021Lignin-Solvent Fuel and Method and Apparatus for Making Same - The present invention is a process and apparatus for forming various bio-products from cellulosic plant material. The plant material is subjected to a pulping step in which lignin is extracted from the material by an aqueous lignin solvent to form a lignin-solvent mixture and purified cellulose. The lignin-solvent mixture can be separated from the water to form a high energy density fuel that can be used independently or combined with biodiesel. The purified cellulose can be used in conventional processes, e.g., paper making, or can be converted to fermentable sugars with a cellulase enzyme to produce other bio-products depending on the operating conditions of the fermenter. The bio-products produced by the fermenter can include the solvent that may be recycled for use in extracting the lignin.06-11-2009

20080206165Single-use personal care products and kits comprising same - Single-use personal care products and kits comprising the same are disclosed. At least some of the single-use products include a pre-measured amount of a shaving composition.08-28-2008
20100124540SKIN COMPOSITIONS - A skin composition for use with or without a device such as a razor or a light based device (e.g., a laser) is provided in the present invention. The composition when exposed to light having a red wavelength is capable of substantially transmitting or not substantially absorbing or reflecting the red wavelength of light to protect the skin. Ingredients in the composition may be segmented into functional groups: a drying group, a skin benefits group, a performance group and a carrier group where each group has respective functional agents or ingredients. A container encompassing the composition may be integrated with a razor or light based device for ease of dispensing. The composition is quick-drying. After evaporation, there may be one or more non-volatile components of the composition remaining on the skin providing skin benefits.05-20-2010
20110132387Porous, Dissolvable Solid Substrate And Surface Resident Coating Comprising A Skin Treatment Active - The present invention relates to personal care compositions, especially those shave preparation article and skin care articles which are in the form of a porous dissolvable solid substrate having a surface resident coating comprising at least one skin treatment active. The present invention can deliver a consumer benefit as well as allow for separation of any incompatible actives in the substrate versus the coating.06-09-2011

20100085605LOSSLESS COMPRESSION OF COLOR LOOK-UP TABLE VIA HIERARCHICAL DIFFERENTIAL ENCODING OR CELLULAR INTERPOLATIVE PREDICTION - A color look-up table (CLUT) is compressed in a lossless manner. The CLUT includes nodes that convert values of a first color space to corresponding values of a second color space. The CLUT is received in a serialized node-by-node manner. For each of some of the nodes the following is performed in the order in which the nodes are received in the serialized node-by-node manner. First, a difference value is determined that represents compression of a value of the node, in accordance with a hierarchical differential encoding approach or in accordance with a cellular interpolative prediction approach. Second, the difference value is stored in lieu of the value of the node being stored, to compress the value of the node in the lossless manner.04-08-2010
