20090304082EXTRACTING FEATURES OF VIDEO & AUDIO SIGNAL CONTEN TO PROVIDE RELIABLE IDENTIFICATION OF THE SIGNALS - Signatures that can be used to identify video and audio content are generated from the content by generating measures of dissimilarity between features of corresponding groups of pixels in frames of video content and by generating low-resolution time-frequency representations of audio segments. The signatures are generated by applying a hash function to intermediate values derived from the measures of dissimilarity and to the low-resolution time-frequency representations. The generated signatures may be used in a variety of applications such as restoring synchronization between video and audio content streams and identifying copies of original video and audio content. The generated signatures can provide reliable identifications despite intentional and unintentional modifications to the content.12-10-2009

20080319137ANTIOXIDANT STABILIZED CROSSLINKED ULTRA-HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT POLYETHYLENE FOR MEDICAL DEVICE APPLICATIONS - An antioxidant combined with UHMWPE prior to subjecting the UHMWPE to crosslinking irradiation. In one exemplary embodiment, the antioxidant is tocopherol. After the antioxidant is combined with the UHMWPE, the resulting blend may be formed into slabs, bar stock, and/or incorporated into a substrate, such as a metal, for example. The resulting product may then be subjected to crosslinking irradiation. In one exemplary embodiment, the UHMWPE blend is preheated prior to subjecting the same to crosslinking irradiation. Once irradiated, the UHMWPE blended product may be machined, packaged, and sterilized in accordance with conventional techniques.12-25-2008

20110005454Plasma Reactor, and Method for the Production of Monocrystalline Diamond Layers - A plasma reactor and a method for production on wafers over a large area of monocrystalline diamond layers. The plasma reactor includes at least two flat electrodes having surfaces orientated towards each other, the electrodes being delimited respectively by an edge; a plasma region producing a plasma between the surfaces of the electrodes with an ion saturation current density of equal to or greater than 0.001 A/cm2, wherein a gas is introduced into the plasma region; and a device supplying microwaves having at least one frequency, the microwaves radiating into the plasma region and introducing a power into the plasma region contributing to the plasma production. The ion saturation current density of equal to or greater than 0.001 A/cm2 is maintained by controlling at least one of (a) a spacing between the electrodes, (b) the power of the microwaves, and (c) the frequency of the microwaves.01-13-2011

20080271629METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HANDLING PRINTING PLATES ON A WEB-FED PRINTING PRESS - A method and apparatus for handling printing plates on a web-fed printing press is disclosed. Printing plates imaged on an imaging device are assigned a coding relating to the plate cylinder position of the printing couple at which the respective printing plate is used. Imaged printing plates are inserted into cassettes such that printing plates for several printing couples are positioned in each cassette, where each cassette is assigned a data record relating to the position at which each printing plate is arranged within the respective cassette. The loaded cassettes are conveyed to the region of the printing couples where the data record assigned to the cassettes is also made available in the region of the printing couples. The printing plates are removed from the cassettes and, with a comparison to the data record assigned to the respective cassette, supplied to the respective printing couples.11-06-2008
20080271630METHOD FOR HANDLING PRINTING PLATES - A method for handling printing plates, namely for arranging printing plates in cassettes that are used as printing plate repositories during a printing plate change, is disclosed. Each printing plate is assigned a coding before, during or after imaging relating to a plate cylinder position of a printing couple at which the respective printing plate is used. Each imaged and coded printing plate is transported to the region of a cassette. In the region of each cassette, the coding of the printing plates is read out, and in doing so a check is made to see whether the printing plates are located at the correct cassette. If it is established that the printing plates are located at the correct cassette, a defined accommodation position in the cassette is released for each printing plate and the printing plate is positioned at this accommodation position within the cassette.11-06-2008
20090013890HANDLING DEVICE OF A PRINTING PRESS - A handling device of a printing press, in particular for handling printing plates during an automated printing plate change on a printing unit of a printing press, is disclosed. The handling device has a manipulator arm, where one end of the manipulator arm is assigned a manipulator head, which features a handling element, in particular a holding element for printing plates, and the manipulator arm is embodied in a multi-part manner of several segments. A swivel axis is embodied on each end of each segment, around which at least the respective segment can be swiveled, and each swivel axis is assigned a separate drive for providing the respective swivel movement. The other end of the manipulator arm is mounted so it is translatorily and rotationally movable on a traverse or on a frame or on a wall of the printing press.01-15-2009
20090211478Handling Device of a Printing Press - A handling device for handling printing plates during an automated change of printing plates on a printing unit of a printing press includes a manipulator arm and a manipulator head with a suction device mounted on its free end. The suction device includes a crossbeam and a plurality of suction sections along the length of the crossbeam. Each suction section has a pair of suction nozzles supported in floating fashion with respect to the crossbeam and a pair of stop elements mounted on the crossbeam and arranged to limit the movement of a printing plate held by respective suction nozzles with respect to the crossbeam. The stop elements are preferably held of a pair of U-profile-shaped sections fixed to the crossbeam, these sections and the stop elements having circular openings through which the suction nozzles project.08-27-2009
20110239884APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CHANGING PRINTING PLATES - An apparatus and method for changing printing plates is disclosed. A printing plate cartridge for a printing press has multiple cases for accommodating printing plates to be removed during a printing plate change and for accommodating printing plates to be installed during a printing plate change. The printing plate cartridge is mounted in such a way that it may be moved in a rotationally pivotable fashion and in a linear fashion relative to a printing group of the printing press, such that the printing plate cartridge is able to service multiple printing units of the printing group during a printing plate change.10-06-2011
