20090321647METHOD FOR PERFORMING IR SPECTROSCOPY MEASUREMENTS TO QUANTIFY A LEVEL OF UV EFFECT - A method of non-destructively determining the amount of ultraviolet degradation of a surface and/or paint adhesion characteristics of the surface corresponding with UV damage including determining a physical property of a composite material/surfacing film by providing a series of composite materials/surfacing films which are subjected to increasing UV light experience to create a set of UV damage standards, collecting mid-IR spectra on those standards, performing data pre-processing and then multivariate calibration on the spectra of the composite materials/surfacing films, and using that calibration to predict the UV damage for samples in question.12-31-2009
20110149283Structural Assembly And Methods For Facilitating Corrosion Inspection - A structural assembly and methods are provided to facilitate corrosion inspection, such as in those regions of a structure that may otherwise be visibly inspected only following at least partial disassembly of the structure. The structural assembly may include a structure and a coating disposed upon at least a portion of the structure that has optical properties that change in response to corrosion. The structural assembly may also include a fiber optic sensing network including a plurality of optical fibers and a sensor. The plurality of optical fibers are configured to expose the coating to incident optical signals and to receive responsive optical signals at least partially dependent upon any change in the optical properties of the coating. The sensor is configured to receive the responsive optical signals from the plurality of optical fibers. This sensor may also be configured to analyze the responsive optical signals to detect corrosion.06-23-2011

20090194439Bicycle chain replacement part holder - A bicycle chain replacement part holder. In an embodiment, the part holder is a generally parallelepiped shaped resilient urethane rubber block with slight notches at the corner suitable for releasably securing the part holder in an interference snap-in fit pattern with the interior perimeter walls of a part holder aperture in a chain linking tool. Alternately, the part holder may be provided for separate use in a stand alone fashion. In an embodiment, a thru hole aperture is provided in the parts holder for use with a securing device, such as a key chain, so that the parts holder can be reliably secured to a known location, especially in the event that the parts holder is not secured to and within a chain linking tool.08-06-2009

20110320366Computer-Implemented System And Method For Transparently Interfacing With Legacy Line Of Business Applications - A computer-implemented system and method for transparently interfacing with legacy line of business applications is provided. A plurality of legacy line of business applications execute on a line of business server platform. A connector is interfaced to each legacy line of business application. Each legacy line of business application implements business logic for a specific business need. A dashboard application executes on a client platform into which at least one Widget application is tailored to and installed for one or more of the legacy line of business applications. An enterprise collaboration server executes on a collaboration server platform communicatively interposed between the line of business server platform and the client platform. A data access framework coupled to the dashboard application is provided through a user interface layer. A data service bus coupled to the line of business applications through their respective connector and to the data access framework is provided.12-29-2011

20110060806USING IN-THE-CLOUD STORAGE FOR COMPUTER HEALTH DATA - A policy enforcement point (PEP) controls access to a network in accordance with one or more policy statements that specify conditions for compliant devices. The PEP receives current health data from a device seeking to access the network, and stores this health data in local volatile memory. If the health data stored in local volatile memory complies with the policy statements, the device is permitted to access the network. Otherwise, the device is denied access to the network, or permitted only limited access to the network in order to resolve its compliance issues. The PEP occasionally stores the health data in local persistent memory and on an online service (OLS). During reboot, the PEP accesses the OLS to confirm that it has the most recent health data. If more recent health data is available from the OLS, the OLS provides this more recent data to the PEP.03-10-2011

20090191342METHOD FOR EDGE SEALING BARRIER FILMS - Methods of making an edge-sealed, encapsulated environmentally sensitive device. One method includes providing an environmentally sensitive device with a contact on a substrate; depositing a decoupling layer adjacent to the environmentally sensitive device, the decoupling layer having a discrete area and covering the environmentally sensitive device and not covering the contact, the decoupling layer deposited using a printing process; depositing a first barrier layer adjacent to the decoupling layer, the first barrier layer having a first area greater than the discrete area of the decoupling layer, and the first barrier layer having a second area covering the decoupling layer and the contact, the decoupling layer being sealed between the edges of the first barrier layer and the substrate or an optional second barrier layer; and removing the second area of the first barrier layer from the contact.07-30-2009
20090208754METHOD FOR EDGE SEALING BARRIER FILMS - A method of making an edge-sealed, encapsulated environmentally sensitive device. The method includes providing an environmentally sensitive device on a substrate; depositing a decoupling layer through one mask, the decoupling layer adjacent to the environmentally sensitive device, the decoupling layer having a discrete area and covering the environmentally sensitive device; increasing the distance between the one mask and the substrate; and depositing a first barrier layer through the one mask, the first barrier layer adjacent to the decoupling layer, the first barrier layer having an area greater than the discrete area of the decoupling layer and covering the decoupling layer, the decoupling layer being sealed between the edges of the first barrier layer and the substrate or an optional second barrier layer.08-20-2009
20100193468METHOD FOR EDGE SEALING BARRIER FILMS - An edge-sealed, encapsulated environmentally sensitive device. The device includes an environmentally sensitive device, and at least one edge-sealed barrier stack. The edge-sealed barrier stack includes a decoupling layer and at least two barrier layers. The environmentally sensitive device is sealed between an edge-sealed barrier stack and either a substrate or another edge-sealed barrier stack. A method of making the edge-sealed, encapsulated environmentally sensitive device is also disclosed.08-05-2010

20090319620PROGRAM-SENSITIVE LINK IN CONTENT - Context-sensitive content may be created that may be recognized by a particular program but ignored by other programs. For example, in an e-mail message or other type of message, content could be created that advises the user to download a particular client for an enhanced content-viewing experience, along with a link pointing to a site where the client may be downloaded. This content and link could be surrounded by tags that would not be recognized by most clients, but that would be recognized by the client that provides the enhanced experience. Thus, most clients would render the advice and link, but the client that provides the enhanced experience could be configured to omit the link when it recognizes the surrounding tags, since a recipient who is viewing the e-mail with that client already has access to the enhanced experience.12-24-2009
20090327431AUTOMATIC DOWNLOAD OF IMAGES FROM ONLINE STORAGE - Various technologies for automatically downloading one or more high resolution image files from online storage. In one implementation, an e-mail client desktop application (stored at a sender's computer) may receive a request from the sender to send an e-mail with one or more high resolution image files added to the e-mail. Although the high resolution image files may be uploaded to a server, the files may be added as lower resolution image files with hidden Uniform Resource Locator (URL) addresses that may indicate the location on the server of the corresponding high resolution image files. Prior to sending the e-mail, the e-mail client desktop application may concatenate each high resolution image file's URL address with an extension or tag such as “?download” so that the address may later be easily identified.12-31-2009
