20120116447DEVICES AND METHODS USEFUL FOR SEALING BODILY OPENINGS - Among other things, there are disclosed apparatuses and methods for medically sealing an opening in a vessel or wall. For example, in medical applications, a delivery tube is provided for insertion through a sheath into a vessel (e.g. a blood vessel). A dome-shaped seal fixed to a filament, an absorbent and/or compressible buffer, and a locking member are provided in the delivery tube. The delivery tube is configured so that it can be inserted into the vessel through a sheath. Tension is maintained on the filament to hold the seal against the tube or sheath. The sheath is pulled out, which pulls out the tube at the same time, leaving the seal over the opening in the vessel wall. The locking member compresses the buffer against the outside of the vessel and with the filament holds the seal in place against the inside of a vessel.05-10-2012

The pressurization element may comprise a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) device. The interface element may include a breathing mask, such as a nasal non-invasive ventilation (NIV) mask, or a nostril occlusive nasal delivery device. Such a brain cooling system may be used to treat cerebral hypoperfusion, as may occur with a cerebral vascular accident (CVA), such as a stroke, a traumatic brain injury, or cardiac arrest, or with conditions that may lead to a CVA or to cerebral hypoperfusion. In a cerebral hypoperfusion treatment method, cooled respiratory gases, which may include an elevated amount of oxygen, may be introduced, under an elevated air pressure that exceeds a normal, physiologic air pressure generated as a subject inhales spontaneously, into the nasal cavity of the subject.02-09-2012

20080266001DUAL REFERENCE PHASE TRACKING PHASE-LOCKED LOOP - A phase-locked loop circuit having a dual-reference input and a phase detector. The dual-reference input is configured to accept both a rising edge of an input clock having a first phase and a falling edge of the input clock having a second phase. The phase detector is coupled to the dual-reference input and is configured to produce a center phase signal based upon and centered in phase between the first and second phases. The phase detector is further configured with a feedback loop to adjust any tracking error and provide a tracking output signal. The phase detector system maintains both a high tracking bandwidth and a bounded jitter amplification based as a result of the dual reference signal. The high tracking bandwidth and the bounded jitter amplification are independent of an applied loop gain.10-30-2008

20110116527SELF-CALIBRATING, WIDE-RANGE TEMPERATURE SENSOR - A self-calibrating, wide-range temperature sensor includes a current reference, impervious to process and voltage, with the current reference mirrored into two oppositely-sized bipolar transistors or diodes. Duplicate current sources are used with a ratio of geometries between them, such that the larger current biases the smaller bipolar transistor (less cross-sectional area) and the smaller current source biases the larger bipolar transistor (higher cross-sectional area). The current source in conjunction with the differential temperature sensing provides inherent calibration without drift while the differential sensing, from the ratio of geometries in the current paths also increases sensitivity.05-19-2011
