20090074414PORT-TO-PORT, NON-BLOCKING, SCALABLE OPTICAL ROUTER ARCHITECTURE AND METHOD FOR ROUTING OPTICAL TRAFFIC - Embodiments of the present invention provide an optical network and switch architecture that provides non-blocking routing from an ingress router to an egress router in the network on a port-to-port basis. The present invention provides routing for fixed and variable length optical data packets of varying types (including Internet Protocol (IP), data, voice, TDM, ATM, voice over data, etc.) at speeds from sub-Terabit per second (Tbps), to significantly in excess of Petabit per second (Pbps). The present invention includes the functionality of both large IP routers and optical cross-connects combined with a unique, non-blocking optical switching and routing techniques to obtain benefits in speed and interconnected capacity in a data transport network. The present invention can utilize a TWDM wave slot transport scheme in conjunction with a just-in-time scheduling pattern and a unique optical switch configuration that provides for non-blocking transport of data from ingress to egress.03-19-2009

20090292496VEHICLE COMPASS COMPENSATION - A compass compensation system is provided for automatically and continuously calibrating an electronic compass for a vehicle, without requiring an initial manual calibration or preset of the vehicle magnetic signature. The system initially adjusts a two axis sensor of the compass in response to a sampling of at least one initial data point. The system further calibrates the compass by sampling data points that are substantially opposite to one another on a plot of a magnetic field and averaging an ordinate of the data points to determine a respective zero value for the Earth magnetic field. The system also identifies a change in magnetic signature and adjusts the sensor assembly.11-26-2009

20090195974Tamper evident portable memory housing and device - A portable memory housing includes a first housing section and a second housing section that couples to the first housing section to define an enclosure for portable memory components. At least one of the housing sections includes a prong extending from an edge of the housing section and an other of the housing sections defines a slot configured to receive the prong. The prong includes at least one flat that is parallel and at least one flat that is perpendicular to the edge of its respective housing section. The slot is defined by a parallel wall configured to abut the parallel flat of the prong and limit relative lateral movement of the first and second housing sections, and a perpendicular wall configured to abut the perpendicular flat of the prong to impede separation of the first housing section from the second housing section.08-06-2009

20080196552METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TENSIONING AN EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM ON A VEHICLE - An apparatus and associated method for use in tensioning a park brake cable system includes a body including a housing and an input shaft, the input shaft positioned at least partially within the housing, the housing and the input shaft being axially movable relative to one another, and the input shaft and the outer housing being rotatable relative to one another, the body having a nut receiving recess. The cable system is tensioned by retracting the nut from its support surface, tensioning the system by rotating the nut, and relieving the nut back to its support surface. A control system is used to control the operation of the tensioning device, and is programmable to perform several associated functions.08-21-2008
20090031868System and Method for Tensioning an Emergency Brake System - A brake tensioning system and method are described herein for use on vehicles. The system includes a tool, and the method includes the use of the tool to effectuate tensioning of a brake system conveniently, accurately, and repeatably.02-05-2009

20100014615Systems and methods for demodulating multiply-modulated communications signals - Embodiments of the present invention provide for an overall hardware and software approach to Mode-S demodulation, especially where the Mode-S signals (such as squitters) have been modulated with multiple modulation protocols. Various implementations utilize coherent phase detection, since coherently detecting phase transitions in a multiple modulated signal results in better sensitivity and improved interference rejection over non-coherent modulation techniques. Further, addressing the demodulation of multiply-modulated signals may also be approached in embodiments of the present invention as a unified demodulation system, rather than disjoint demodulation of the separately modulated protocols.01-21-2010
20100253565Method and apparatus to increase ADS-B squitter reception sensitivity - A TCAS receiver includes an antenna, an analog to digital converter (ADC), and a FPGA. The antenna receives an ADS-B squitter signal. The ADC converts the signal to a digital signal. The FPGA uses matched filters for matching at least a portion of the digital signal to a message, thereby increasing ADS-B squitter sensitivity.10-07-2010

20090085612MULTI-PURPOSE CURRENT DRIVER SYSTEM AND METHOD - A current driver system and method for generating one or more independent current signals for controlling or driving an external device. In one embodiment the system includes a programmable controller having both serial and parallel interfaces, and controls six independent current driver channels. Each current driver channel may form a dual stage channel that generates two different level current signals. Each current driver channel may include an overcurrent monitoring circuit as well as a loop back subsystem, where the loop back subsystem generates a signal that the programmable controller, and thus an external device in communication with the controller, can use to verify that proper communication is occurring between the controller and the current driver channel. The controller also synchronizes the turn on and turn off points for each current signal to a master system clock.04-02-2009
