20080233069 | Multi-Purpose Polymers, Methods and Compositions - Disclosed are multi-purpose polymers that are the polymerization product of a monomer mixture comprising at least one amino-substituted vinyl monomer; at least one nonionic vinyl monomer; at least one associative vinyl monomer; at least one semihydrophobic vinyl surfactant monomer; and, optionally, comprising one or more hydroxy-substituted nonionic vinyl monomer, crosslinking monomer, chain transfer agent or polymeric stabilizer. These vinyl addition polymers have a combination of substituents, including amino substituents that provide cationic properties at low pH, hydrophobic substituents, hydrophobically modified polyoxyalkylene substituents, and hydrophilic polyoxyalkylene substituents. The polymers provide surprisingly beneficial rheological properties in acidic aqueous compositions, and are compatible with cationic materials. The multi-purpose polymers are useful in a variety of products for personal care, health care, household care, institutional and industrial care, and industrial applications. | 09-25-2008 |

20100076900 | TRANSACTION METHOD AND A METHOD OF CONTROLLING USE OF A GAME - In an example, a gaming device includes a license module, the license module arranged to determine, prior to allowing execution of program code of a game having an associated license, whether the license is a fixed term license or a continual term license, and, if the license is a fixed term license, check that the license is current before allowing the program code to execute. In an example, a method of controlling use of a game by a gaming device, the game having an associated license, includes determining prior to allowing the program code of the game to execute whether the license is a fixed term license or a continual term license, and, if the license is a fixed term license, checking whether the license is current before allowing the program code to execute. | 03-25-2010 |

20080246434 | Battery adapter system and night-vision scope using same - A battery adapter system and night-vision scope using same is disclosed. The system includes a housing having a body portion and a reversible cap adapted to screw on and off of the body portion. The body portion has an interior sized to accommodate the whole of a relatively short and wide 3-volt lithium battery or to partially accommodate the narrower, taller 1.5-volt AA battery. The reversible cap has an open end and an interior, and has outer threads that allow the cap to screw to the body portion in either of two orientations. When using the lithium battery, the cap is screwed onto the body portion in a first orientation that forms a first sealed housing interior that does not include the cap interior. When using the AA battery, the cap is screwed onto the body portion in a second orientation wherein the cap open end is first placed over the portion of the AA battery that protrudes from the body portion. This forms a second sealed housing interior that includes the cap interior. Interrupted outer threads facilitate the gripping of the cap when screwing and unscrewing it from the body portion. The housing is designed to provide an electrical connection between the battery housed therein and a voltage regulating circuit adapted to provide a 3 volt DC output for an input voltage anywhere between 0.6 VDC and 3 VDC. The output voltage powers an image intensifier device connected to the circuit. | 10-09-2008 |
20080246435 | Battery adapter system - The battery adapter system includes a housing having a body portion and a reversible cap adapted to screw on and off of the body portion. When using the smaller and wider lithium battery, the cap is screwed onto the body portion in a first orientation that forms a first sealed housing interior that does not include the cap interior. When using the taller and thinner AA battery, the cap is screwed onto the body portion in a second orientation wherein the cap open end is first placed over the portion of the AA battery that protrudes from the body portion. This forms a second sealed housing interior that includes the cap interior. The housing is designed to provide an electrical connection between the battery housed therein and a voltage regulating circuit, which is adapted to provide a 3 volt DC output for an input voltage anywhere between 0.6 volt and 3 volts. The output voltage is suitable for powering an electrical and/or optical device such as a light-emitting device. | 10-09-2008 |

20130335519 | Multicast Media Notification for Queued Calls - Multicast media notifications are provided when unicast media encoders are unavailable to serve endpoints that send a communication session request to a call control device. When the call control device receives a communication session request from an endpoint, a determination is made as to whether any one of a plurality of unicast media encoders is available for the communication session request. When it is determined that none of the plurality of unicast media encoders is available, the endpoint is connected to a multicast media encoder that presents a multicast media notification to the endpoint. | 12-19-2013 |
