20090047217Polynucleotides Encoding Members of the Human B Lymphocyte Activation Antigen B7 Family and Polypeptides Encoded Thereby - The present invention provides novel isolated BLAA polynucleotides and the membrane-associated or secreted polypeptides encoded by the BLAA polynucleotides. Also provided are the antibodies that immunospecifically bind to a BLAA polypeptide or any derivative, variant, mutant or fragment of the BLAA polypeptide, polynucleotide or antibody. The invention additionally provides methods in which the BLAA polypeptide, polynucleotide and antibody are utilized in the detection and treatment of a broad range of pathological states, as well as to other uses.02-19-2009

20110002191Active sonar apparatuses and methods - An active sonar detection system may include a transmitter, which may project into the transmissive medium signals of any frequency, amplitude or phase using one or more transducers. A transmit beamformer to provide transmission directionality may also be included. Generated transmit waveforms may have different temporal and frequency spectra that are adapted for different purposes. Such purposes may include, individually or in combination: detection of stationary or moving objects and surfaces and the ability to describe, classify and/or localize them; the ability to interrogate the environment for its reverberation and propagation features and/or to discern fronts and eddies; the ability to mislead third parties and their apparatuses either by making the transmitted signal unobtrusive, or provide for stealth operations by making the signals appear to be radiating from a source other than the one from which the signals are actually radiating, or by giving the signals or an object, such as a submarine, the appearance of having a purpose other than that for which they are actually intended.01-06-2011

20090272122TURBINE SHROUD THERMAL DISTORTION CONTROL - A shroud suitable for use in a gas turbine engine exhibits substantially uniform thermal growth.11-05-2009
20100104433CERAMIC SHROUD ASSEMBLY - A ceramic shroud assembly suitable for use in a gas turbine engine comprises a metal clamp ring shrink fitted around a ceramic shroud ring and an insulating and compliant interlayer. The interlayer is positioned between the metal clamp ring and the ceramic shroud ring.04-29-2010
20100170264TURBINE SHROUD THERMAL DISTORTION CONTROL - A shroud suitable for use in a gas turbine engine exhibits substantially uniform thermal growth.07-08-2010
20110052384CERAMIC TURBINE SHROUD SUPPORT - A turbine shroud includes a ceramic shroud ring configured to surround a plurality of turbine rotor blades, a plurality of slots circumferentially distributed around the ceramic shroud ring, a forward metallic support ring, a plurality of tabs attached to a forward edge of the forward metallic support ring configured to engage a turbine support case, and a plurality of tabs attached to an aft edge of the forward metallic support ring received by the slots of the ceramic shroud ring. Only two axially extending radial surfaces of each of the tabs attached to the aft edge of the forward metallic support ring are configured to contact the slots of the ceramic shroud ring.03-03-2011

20100030526AXIAL BOLTED FLANGE DESIGN METHODS AND SYSTEMS - A method of designing an axial bolted flange joint includes the use of a common, controlled spreadsheet that includes part and assembly drawings, dimensions, equations, materials properties, and design limits and design criteria that generates alerts to the user during the design process. Drawings are updated by the spreadsheet as parameters are changed and are available as final drawings at any stage of the method. After the user achieves an acceptable preliminary design in the spreadsheet, the data from the spreadsheet and/or updated drawings are imported into a solids modeling program. A finite elements program imports data from the solids modeling program to perform a stress analysis. The data in the spreadsheet may be modified, if necessary, based upon the stress analysis results.02-04-2010

20110048800Systems and Methods for Storing and/or Transmitting Electrical Energy - According to some embodiments, systems and or methods may be provided to transport electrical energy from a first location having an electrical energy source to a second location, remote from the first location and having a load to accept electrical energy. A first pipeline between the first and second locations may include a first chamber containing a cathodic fluid. A second pipeline between the first and second locations may include a second chamber containing an anodic fluid, and at least of a portion of said first and second pipelines include a contiguous area. A membrane may separate the cathodic and anodic fluids at said contiguous area to exchange electrical energy between said fluids and create an electrochemical storage cell across said membrane. By utilizing additional alternating layers of said electrolyte, casing and membrane multiple cells may be created.03-03-2011
