20090259522SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR GENERATING QUANTITATIVE PRICING POWER AND RISK SCORES - The present invention relates to a quantitative pricing power and pricing risk score generator and methods therefore, useful in association with an integrated price management system. Such a system may include a segment generator, a segment pricing power analyzer, and a segment pricing risk analyzer. The segment generator may receive or generate segments associated with a customer. Segment generation uses transaction level data which includes product attribute information, market data, and transaction history data. The segment pricing power analyzer and risk analyzer identify pricing power and risk factors, and assign raw scores to each factor, generates a weight for each raw score for each of the pricing power factors, and generates the quantitative pricing power and risk scores for each segment by computing a weighted average of the factors using the generated weights for each of the raw scores. Weights may be assigned according to default values or may be generated via an optimization.10-15-2009
20090259523SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR CALIBRATING PRICING POWER AND RISK SCORES - The present invention relates to a power and risk score calibrator which includes segment pricing power and risk reconcilers, a segment cartographer, segment power and risk aggregators, pricing power and risk value comparers, and pricing power and risk value calibrators. The reconcilers receive quantitative power and risk scores for each quantitative segment, and receive qualitative power and risk scores for each qualitative segment. The qualitative segment and the qualitative power and risk scores are defined by a user. The cartographer generates consolidated segments. The aggregators may then generate consolidated power and risk scores for each of the consolidated segments, respectively. The comparers then reconcile gaps between the qualitative power and risk scores and the consolidated power and risk scores. From these reconciliations adjustment factors are generated, which are applied by pricing power and risk value calibrators. The calibrators may also perform a drill down to explain the gap between the qualitative scores and the consolidated scores.10-15-2009

20110218622INDUCTION ACTIVATION OF ADJUSTABLE ANNULOPLASTY RINGS AND OTHER IMPLANTABLE DEVICES - Systems and methods to adjust an adjustable medical device that is implanted subcutaneously within the body of a patient. The adjustable medical device is coupled to an adjustment mechanism configured to, when powered, effect a desired adjustment to the adjustable medical device. The adjustment mechanism is electrically coupled to a receiving coil configured to resonate at a desired frequency such that an electric current induced in the receiving coil powers the adjustment mechanism. An induction activation system is configured to utilize magnetic resonance to wirelessly activate the adjustable medical device assembly, from outside the patient's body, through a skin barrier of the patient. The induction activation system comprises a power source and a delivery coil. The power source creates an alternating electrical signal. The delivery coil is electrically coupled to the power source and configured to resonate in response to the alternating electrical signal created by the power source, and thereby generate a resonating magnetic field. The delivery coil is tuned to have a resonant frequency that is the same as a frequency of the alternating electrical signal created by the power source. The receiving coil can also be tuned to resonate at the resonant frequency of the delivery coil. When the delivery coil is positioned near the patient's body, such that the receiving coil is within the magnetic field generated by the delivery coil, an electric current is induced in the receiving coil to drive the adjustment mechanism and thereby effect an adjustment of the adjustable medical device.09-08-2011

20110080897Communications resource management - A communications resource management system. The system includes a first module for prioritizing incoming messages and a second module for steering the messages in response to the prioritization by the first module. The first module assigns a message priority to each message based on a plurality of parameters such as mission mode, message type, and timeliness factor. The second module selects the most optimal communications resource for the message with the highest message priority by assigning a transmitter priority to each communications resource based on a plurality of factors such as estimated message arrival time, availability, and waveform compatibility. The message with the highest message priority is steered to the communications resource with the highest transmitter priority at the moment the message is sent. The first and second modules are each implemented using decision tree logic.04-07-2011

20120162460GLOBAL ARMING METHOD FOR IMAGE PROCESSING PIPELINE - Each unit among a pipeline of image processing units receives a new configuration vector (update), and the received new vector is only applied in sync with the Timing-derived trigger signal within a hardware-enabled time period. A hardware enable signal is logically combined with a Timing-derived triggering event signal to control a switch that applies the new received vector to the processing unit. This ensures that each image processing unit (stage) in the chain of image processing units is updated in sequence even if the CPU has output the updated configuration vectors independently of the Timing of the Data and without regard for the delay through each of the processing units. The Timing-derived triggering event is used to synchronize the application of a received configuration vector update with the receipt by the unit of a new frame of image DATA.06-28-2012

Also provided are methods for identifying therapeutic compounds which can selectively inhibit Cripto/GRP78 binding.06-03-2010
20110009319CRIPTO ANTAGONISM OF ACTIVIN AND TGF-B SIGNALING - Cripto, a developmental oncoprotein, antagonizes activin and TGF-b signaling by forming a complex with activin and TGF-b and their type II receptors. This complex precludes the formation of a functional activin/TGF-b•type II•type I complex, thereby blocking the signaling of activin and TGF-b. Cripto may be generally capable of blocking antiproliferative Smad2/3 signals and provides a novel mechanism of oncogenic action with multiple therapeutic implications. Inhibiting the formation of Cripto and activin/TGF-b complex may enhance antiproliferative effects of activin and TGF-b.01-13-2011

20100310629INTRAPERICARDIAL ANTIARRHYTHMIC DELIVERY - Certain embodiments provide a method, of treating or reducing a risk of postoperative cardiac arrhythmia, including: creating an opening in a mammal's body; advancing a releasing member from outside the body, through the opening, and toward the mammal's heart; positioning the releasing member between a visceral layer and a parietal layer of pericardium of the mammal's heart; and at least partially closing the opening in the body, leaving the releasing member in the pericardial space. In certain embodiments, the releasing member releases an antiarrhythmic drug into the mammal's pericardial space and is configured not to impede significantly a systolic or a diastolic function of the heart while the releasing member resides in the pericardial space.12-09-2010

20120036367Systems and Methods for Transparent Configuration Authentication of Networked Devices - Methods and systems are disclosed for providing secure transmissions across a network comprising a transmitting device and a receiving device. At the transmitting device, a stream of watermark bits is generated. Next, a plurality of watermarks is generated, each of the plurality of watermarks comprising an index number and a portion of the stream of watermark bits. The watermarks are inserted into each header of a plurality of outgoing packets. At the receiving device, the plurality of outgoing packets are received and it is determined if a received packet is valid based on the watermark in the header of the received packet. The stream of watermark bits may be generated using a stream cipher such as RC4, a block cipher such as 3DES in CBC mode, or other equivalent pseudo-random stream generating techniques.02-09-2012
