| 20080245945 | Modified tripod and "multi-pod" for cameras and other equipment - As one of the examples, one of the main features is that the setup is small enough that it can live with the camera full-time, and carried around by the user. The legs fold into a very compact size that fit within the footprint of the camera, used for any type camera, e.g. compact point-and-shoot camera, camera phone, or SLR camera. The tripod can then live unnoticed on the bottom of the camera, until a shot requiring a tripod is needed. Then, the legs can be deployed to act as a firm stand. Another one of the main features of this tripod is that all the legs do not share a common end-point or pivot-point. This allows the legs to form a very wide stable platform, even when they are short. In general, for N legs, some legs may have common end-points or pivot-points, but not for all N legs. (N is a positive integer, greater or equal to 3.) This invention can be applied to any camera (e.g. compact camera) and any measurement equipment that uses a conventional tripod or similar setup, such as the ones used by civil engineers or surveyors for the survey of the land and construction measurements or calibrations, or the ones used in optical measurements or laser experiments (e.g. for general level measurements and adjustments). Other variations are also discussed. | 10-09-2008 |

| 20120134234 | Declination Compensation For Seismic Survey - In seismic survey for icy waters, streamers are towed behind a vessel under the water's surface to avoid ice. GPS readings may not be consistently obtained because the ice prevents a tail buoy with a GPS receiver from trailing from streamer at the surface. Instead, a device tows on the streamer under the water's surface. The streamer's absolute position is tracked by intermittently bringing the towed device toward the surface so GPS readings can be obtained. The streamer's absolute position can then be used in conjunction with compass readings and can correlate various seismic sensor signals obtained along the streamer during the survey. The compass readings can be corrected for declination using declinometer readings, which can be compensated for iron effects from the vessel or other device carrying the declinometer. | 05-31-2012 |

| 20090193637 | METHOD OF FORMING ANODE BODIES FOR SOLID STATE CAPACITORS - The present invention relates to the field of solid state capacitors, and in particular to capacitors that have an anode body formed of porous valve action material, such as tantalum, niobium or niobium monoxide. According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method of forming capacitor anode bodies from valve action material comprising the steps of: providing a capacitor grade powder of the valve action material, charging the powder into moulding means, compacting the powder in the moulding means so as to shape the powder into an anode body shape, stabilising the body shape, for example by sintering of the material to form an inter-connected porous body, characterised in that the moulding process involves the use of lubrication means which is adapted to apply lubricant locally to lubricate the interface between an outside surface of the anode body and a moulding surface of the moulding means. By applying a lubricant directly to the parts of the mould and anode green that most require lubricant, it is possible considerably to reduce the amount of binder/lubricant that must be added to the valve action powder. In fact, in the case of tantalum, it has surprisingly been found that it is possible to avoid completely the need for an admixed binder/lubricant. This is thought to be because the compaction of the tantalum powder in the presence of an external lubricant provides sufficient structural integrity of the green to be manipulated and transported to a sintering station, without disintegrating. | 08-06-2009 |
