20090040564Vision-Based Color and Neutral-Tone Management - A color management system for image reproduction and rendering. Images are rendered to appear perceptually accurate, rather than merely calorimetrically accurate. For example, an image reproduced by a color printer will be perceived as an accurate reproduction of the same image displayed on a computer screen, or that an image displayed on a computer screen is perceived as an accurate reproduction of the same scanned image or photographed image, even though the reproductions may be constrained by other factors, such as paper or substrate darkness, or a limited color gamut of the reproduction process.02-12-2009
20090054756Method & apparatus for uniquely identifying tissue pathology - A medical diagnostic imaging system is employed to generate two or more diagnostic images with each image generated using a different imaging modality. The imaging system includes an imaging device for generating the diagnostic image information, an operator interface for controlling the operation of the imaging device, an imaging device control module that operates on the diagnostic image information generated by the imaging device and sends the processed image information to a display device. After first generating two or more test images that are used to identify target tissue and to derive functions that are later used during the diagnostic process to identify target tissue and to assign vector magnitudes to the identified target tissue, two or more diagnostic images are then generated and the color in each image is quantified. The images that have been color quantified are then run through a matrix operation which employs the earlier derived functions to identify potential target tissue and to assign vector magnitudes to the identified target tissue. The results of this matrix operation are then processed to arrive at a characteristic diagnostic result which is used to reach a diagnostic conclusion.02-26-2009

20080284792Method and system for improving display quality of a multi-component display - A method, computer-usable medium, and system for processing graphical data for display on a multi-component display is disclosed. Embodiments improve the display quality of multi-component displays by modifying graphical data to preemptively compensate for distortion caused by interstitial layers and/or display screens of the multi-component display, thereby enabling display of graphical objects from multi-component displays with improved optical characteristics. For example, where components of a multi-component display blur displayed images, graphical data used to display graphical objects may be modified to sharpen the graphical objects before display. The pre-sharpening amplifies the high frequency components of the displayed graphical objects to compensate for the dampening caused by passing the graphical objects through the components of the multi-component display.11-20-2008

20080220025Treating Tumors Using Implants Comprising Combinations of Allogeneic Cells - This invention provides methods and compositions for treating tumors. The cell population is made up of alloactivated lymphocytes from the patient or from one or more third-party donors that are alloactivated in a mixed lymphocyte culture. It can be placed into the tumor bed, or combined with tumor-associated antigen for administration to a distal site as a vaccine. The compositions recruit activated participation of the host Immune system, which then reacts against the tumor and provides a level of ongoing protection. Employing multiple third party donor cells confers particular advantages in terms of effectiveness, timing, and ease of use.09-11-2008

20090048825System and method for providing internet based phone conferences using multiple codecs - A method of communicating digitized speech from a transmitting forum participant comprises the step of receiving a data structure that includes said digitized speech. The data structure is analyzed to determine whether the digitized speech is redundantly represented in a plurality of forms in the data structure. A portion of the data structure is forwarded to a receiving forum participant, thereby communicating the digitized speech from the transmitting forum participant. In this method, when the digitized speech is redundantly represented in the data structure in a plurality of forms, the forwarding step includes a step of selecting one or more forms, based on a function, from the plurality of forms in the data structure. Furthermore, the portion of the data structure that is forwarded to the receiving forum participant includes data in the data structure that corresponds to each of the selected one or more forms.02-19-2009

20100021466Antagonistic Human LIGHT-Specific Human Monoclonal Antibodies - Provided herein are antibodies, such as fully human antibodies that immunospecifically bind to an hLIGHT polypeptide. Also provided are isolated nucleic acids encoding antibodies, such as fully human antibodies, that immunospecifically bind to a hLIGHT polypeptide. Further provided are vectors and host cells comprising nucleic acids encoding antibodies, such as fully human antibodies, that immunospecifically bind to a hLIGHT polypeptide. Also provided are methods of making antibodies, such as fully human antibodies, that immunospecifically bind to a hLIGHT polypeptide. Also provided herein is a method of treating a hLIGHT-mediated disease in a subject comprising administering to the subject an antibody, such as a fully human antibody, that immunospecifically binds to a hLIGHT polypeptide. In preferred embodiments, that anti-hLIGHT antibodies provided herein will ameliorate, neutralize or otherwise inhibit hLIGHT biological activity in vivo (e.g., the hLIGHT-mediated production or secretion of CCL20, IL-8 or RANTES from a cell expressing a hLIGHT receptor). Also provided herein is a method for the detection of hLIGHT in a sample as well as a method for ameliorating, neutralizing or otherwise inhibiting hLIGHT activity, e.g., in a human subject suffering from a disorder in which hLIGHT activity is detrimental.01-28-2010
