20120076502Reconfigurable DSP Performance in Optical Transceivers - A method for setting transceiver transmission parameters, in a transceiver having a plurality of components, to achieve the predetermined acceptable end-to-end bit error rate while reducing power consumption. In another aspect the invention relates to an optical transceiver system that uses digital signal processing to process the data stream sent through a fiber optical channel to compensate for transmission, reception and channel impairments to achieve the a predetermined end-to-end bit error rate and to alter its power dissipation to that sufficient to meet said end-to-end bit error rate. In one embodiment the optical transceiver system includes an optical transmitter; an optical receiver comprising an ASIC, FPGA, or other circuitry; and a controller in electrical communication with the optical receiver, wherein the controller controls power to portions of the ASIC so as to reduce power dissipation while meeting the end-to-end bit error rate.03-29-2012

20100146295Trusted Computing Entities - The present invention relates to trust in computing platforms and the like. In particular, embodiments of the invention provide a trusted computing entity (06-10-2010
20100241836REMOTE CONFIGURATION OF COMPUTING PLATFORMS - An embodiment of the invention relates to a computing platform (09-23-2010
20110093693BINDING A CRYPTOGRAPHIC MODULE TO A PLATFORM - One embodiment is a computer system having firmware that shares a secret with a cryptographic co-processor to determine if the cryptographic co-processor has been tampered with or removed from the computer system.04-21-2011
20110099627COMPUTING PLATFORM - The present application describes a computing platform incorporating a trusted entity and storing, in non-volatile memory, one or more indicators, which indicate a current update status of an executable program code, and one or more expected values associated with measurement of the program code, the trusted entity being programmed to update the one or more indicators, by reference to the expected values, in response to a measured change in a current update status of the program code.04-28-2011
20110131420COMPUTING ENTITIES, PLATFORMS AND METHODS OPERABLE TO PERFORM OPERATIONS SELECTIVELY USING DIFFERENT CRYPTOGRAPHIC ALGORITHMS - Described herein is a computing platform incorporating a trusted entity, which is controllable to perform cryptographic operations using selected ones of a plurality of cryptographic algorithms and associated parameters, the entity being programmed to record mode of operation information, which is characterised by the algorithms and associated parameters that are selected to perform an operation.06-02-2011

20110131403VERIFYING FIRMWARE - Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with updating firmware for a chip are described. One example method may include performing an external verification of updated firmware received and stored external to the chip to determine if the updated firmware is authentic. Upon determining that the updated firmware is authentic, the updated firmware is loaded into the chip. An internal verification of the updated firmware within the chip is performed to determine that the updated firmware is authentic. The internal verification is assured to succeed based on the external verification. Because the internal verification will succeed, the chip avoids reverting to a default firmware.06-02-2011

20110303208APPARATUS FOR PROJECTING AN OBJECT - Apparatus for projecting an object such as a ball is described. The apparatus comprises a support for the object to be projected, an impeller assembly configured to transfer energy to the object to project it away from the apparatus; and an actuating mechanism operable by a user interaction with the apparatus. The impeller assembly may be driven mechanically by the actuating mechanism by transfer of energy input by the user interaction. The apparatus may be used for an animal and in particular a dog. The described apparatus removes the need for a further power supply and so avoids unnecessary energy consumption and provides advantages in relation to cost, reliability, and longevity. Embodiments of the invention are modular in nature which greatly assists in training the animal to use the apparatus.12-15-2011
