20090094274Method and apparatus for semantic discovery and mapping between data sources - An apparatus and method are described for the discovery of semantics, relationships and mappings between data in different software applications, databases, files, reports, messages, or systems. In one aspect, semantics and relationships and mappings are identified between a first and a second data source. A binding condition is discovered between portions of data in the first and the second data source. The binding condition is used to discover correlations between portions of data in the first and the second data source. The binding condition and the correlations are used to discover a transformation function between portions of data in the first and the second data source.04-09-2009

20100166122Systems and methods for fast seek and scan functions in a digital radio broadcast receiver - Methods and systems for advancing to another service from a plurality of services in a digital radio broadcast receiver are described. The methods and systems include the steps of receiving an instruction to advance to another service from a man-machine interface of the digital radio broadcast receiver, selecting an entry from a set of entries stored in a memory of the digital radio broadcast receiver responsive to the instruction, wherein each entry identifies a service, and wherein at least some of said services correspond to services identified as receivable, tuning to a first service identified by the selected entry, rendering content received on the first service at the digital radio broadcast receiver, and updating the set of entries stored in the memory of the digital radio broadcast receiver based on at least one criteria.07-01-2010

20100279316Antibodies to Phosphorylated IRAK4 - The present invention relates to antibodies that bind phosphorylated forms of IRAK4, methods of using such antibodies to detect IRAK4 biological activity, and methods for the detection, diagnosis, and prognostication of pathological conditions related to IRAK4 biological activity. ERAK4 is one member of a small family of highly conserved cytoplasmic signal transduction proteins characterized by the presence of an N-terminal “death domain” and a C-terminal serine-threonine kinase domain. IRAK4 functions in cytoplasmic signal transduction pathways by interacting with membrane spanning proteins which play, inter alia, critical roles in vertebrate immune system function.11-04-2010
20100330066Methods for Use with Baff Antagonists - BAFF plays a central role in acquired immunity. The disclosure identifies BAFF-responsive genes that are substantially upregulated by administration of BAFF and substantially downregulated by treatment with a BAFF antagonist. Specific genes are: NF-κB2, CD23, H2-Mβ (the beta chain of H2-DM), Fig-1, and OBF-1. The disclosure provides methods and compositions for: monitoring the activity of a BAFF antagonist in a mammal; monitoring BAFF activity in a mammal; identifying a mammal to be treated with a BAFF antagonist; and related uses. Such methods include detecting one or more molecules selected from the group consisting of Fig-1 molecule, OBF-1 molecule, and H2-Mβ molecule in a biological sample of the mammal, and optionally further detecting NF-κB2 molecule and/or CD23 molecule in the biological sample.12-30-2010

20090155223CELL-BASED COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING CONDITIONS OF THE NERVOUS SYSTEM - Disclosed herein are cell-based compositions for the treatment of conditions of the nervous system and methods for their use. In one embodiment, a cell-based composition comprises glial-restricted progenitors (GRPs) genetically modified to express a targeting ligand on their cell surface. Methods for the preparation of such cell-based compositions are disclosed. Also disclosed is a method for treating a subject suffering from a condition of the central nervous system by providing therapeutic cells (e.g., GRPs) through an intra-arterial route of administration.06-18-2009

20100281042Method and System for Transforming and Delivering Video File Content for Mobile Devices - A method and system for accessing video file content is provided. When a user encounters a web page with video content, the user can select to view the video content and wait for the server to transcode the video file and to stream the transcoded video file to the user's client device. Alternatively, the user may request that the server transcode the video file and to send the transcoded video file to the user's device, where the transcoded video file will be stored. While waiting for the video to be transcoded, the user may browse other websites, for example. In addition, a user may a request may request that the server transcode the video file and to stream the transcoded video file to the user's device in real-time.11-04-2010

20110320335METHOD, LANGUAGE, AND SYSTEM FOR PARALLEL ALGORITHMIC TRADING AND OVERSEEING TRADING ACTIVITY - The invention provides: methods, languages, and systems for parallel algorithmic trading of financial instruments. Each instrument of interest is included in a parallel list, in a reference list, or in both lists. Market data messages are decoded by parallel threads and converted into data series. The number of the threads is preferably equal to the number of the messages in a set of messages. A trader/market regulator selects or creates a trading/overseeing algorithm consisting of expressions based on data series extracted from the messages and on predefined functions. Some of the expressions have outputs representing buy/sell/cancel orders or have outputs aimed for overseeing trading activity. The algorithm is executed by parallel threads. The number of the threads is preferably equal to the number of the instruments in the parallel list.12-29-2011

20090125447METHOD, SYSTEM AND MACHINE READABLE PROGRAM FOR MITIGATING EFFECTS OF DATA SPIKES - The invention provides, among other things: methods, systems, machine readable programs and associated graphical user interfaces for identifying a financial instrument and a time interval associated therewith. The financial instrument has a first set of data associated therewith, which includes a plurality of values. The values may include a first value associated with a high value for the financial instrument during the time interval and a second value associated with a low value for the financial instrument during the time interval. The values may further include a third value associated with an opening value for the financial instrument during the time interval and a fourth value associated with a closing value for the financial instrument during the time interval. The time interval is then analyzed to determine if it includes a spike or other anomaly based upon the first set of data.05-14-2009

20110320248METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATIC PRICING IN ELECTRONIC COMMERCE - An automatic pricing method and apparatus for use in electronic commerce environments is described. Automatic pricing uses live price testing to estimate and measure demand for specific products—taking into account where appropriate, a vendor selected segmentation scheme. The results of live price testing are compared using a vendor selected goal function, e.g. profit maximization, to select a new price. A goal function that balances short term gains versus long term gains based on customer lifetime value is described. The live price testing approach used is designed to minimize losses due to price testing through statistical methods. Additionally, methods for distributing price testing across time so as to avoid problems caused by too many ongoing tests as well as side effects from testing are described. The selected price is a win for both purchasers and vendors as the automatic price will approximate the efficiency of a reverse auction without the inconvenience of the auction format while being goal maximizing for the vendor. For example, a vendor that normally sets prices of items for sale to customers can use embodiments of the invention to great effect.12-29-2011
