20100161530METHOD FOR ENHANCED ACCURACY IN PREDICTING PEPTIDES ELUTION TIME USING LIQUID SEPARATIONS OR CHROMATOGRAPHY - A method for predicting the elution time of a peptide in chromatographic and electrophoretic separations by first providing a data set of known elution times of known peptides, then creating a plurality of vectors, each vector having a plurality of dimensions, and each dimension representing positional information about at least a portion of the amino acids present in the known peptides. A hypothetical vector is then created by assigning dimensional values for at least one hypothetical peptide, and a predicted elution time for the hypothetical vector is created by performing at least one multivariate regression fitting the hypothetical peptide to the plurality of vectors. Preferably, the multivariate regression is accomplished by the use of an artificial neural network and the elution times are first normalized using linear regression.06-24-2010

20100194013CNC MATERIAL PROCESSING SYSTEM WITH WORKPIECE TRAVEL - A CNC system including a travelling drive bar assembly for support of material to be processed. A CNC system including a cutting tool operates on a work piece in at least three axes, with a gantry across the machine that a carriage moves along and a tool that moves vertically on the carriage. A drive bar, oriented perpendicularly to the gantry and to a vertical axis, may travel to support and move the workpiece along its line of orientation. The drive bar may include an elongated structural member, two tracks mounted longitudinally to the elongated member on opposite sides of the elongated member, and a rack, adapted to accept a pinion to urge the drive bar to move, also mounted longitudinally to the elongated member. Guide wheels may receive the tracks to support and align the drive bar. Rollers may further support material that is mounted to the drive bar.08-05-2010

20100094869Method of Presenting Search Results to a User of a Social Network Site - Method of presenting search results to a user of a social network site on the Internet, in which each user of the social network site has a user profile with information regarding the user, includes obtaining content items satisfying a search of information on the Internet by a first user. The content items are ranked as a function of the information in the user profile of the first user such that the content items which are related to the information in the user profile of the first user are ranked higher than the content items which are unrelated to the information in the user profile of the first user. The content items according to ranking are then transferred to a display of the first user via the Internet such that higher ranked content items are displayed on the display prior to lower ranked content items being displayed on the display.04-15-2010

20100228496Methods for the Determination of a Copy Number of a Genomic Sequence in a Biological Sample - Methods for the determination of a copy number of a target genomic sequence; either a target gene or genomic sequence of interest, in a biological sample are described. Various methods utilize a model drawn from a probability density function (PDF) for the assignment of a copy number of a target genomic sequence in a biological sample. Additionally, the methods provide for the determination of a confidence value for a copy number assigned to a sample based on attributes of the sample data. Accordingly, the various methods for the determination of a copy number provide the end user with significant information for the evaluation of a copy number of a target genomic sequence; either a gene or genomic sequence of interest.09-09-2010

20110124444VIDEO-BASED SYSTEM FOR TENNIS TRAINING INCORPORATING MATS - In accordance with the invention, the inventive mat comprises a planar member. A first marking is disposed on the planar member corresponding to the position of the ball of the foot of the first foot at a first swing first point in time during the execution of a first tennis swing. The first swing first point in time is relatively proximate to the commencement of the execution of the first tennis swing. The first foot is the right foot of a right-hand dominant player or the left foot of a left-hand dominant player practicing a two-handed backhand. The first marking may comprise an indication of the sole of a first shoe and indicate the placement of the heel of the first shoe. A second marking is disposed on the planar member corresponding to the position of the sole of the second foot at the first swing first point in time during the execution of the first tennis swing. A third marking is disposed on the planar member corresponding to the position of the first foot at a first swing second point in time during the execution of the first tennis swing. The second marking corresponds to the position of the second foot at the first swing second point in time during the execution of the first tennis swing. The first swing second point in time is after the first swing first point in time.05-26-2011
20110124445VIDEO-BASED SYSTEM FOR TENNIS TRAINING - The inventive system comprises a first plurality of cameras disposed around a first point in a practice area to generate a plurality of first images of an individual positioned at the first point in the course of the execution of a swing by the individual. A second plurality of cameras is disposed around a second point in a practice area, the second point being displaced from the first point. The second plurality of cameras is symmetrically positioned with respect to the first plurality of cameras about an axis defined by the position of a first theoretical line positioned between the first and second plurality of cameras, and transverse to a second theoretical line extending between the first and second plurality of cameras. The second plurality of cameras generating a plurality of second images of an individual positioned at the second point in the course of the execution of a swing by the individual. The inventive mat is placed in the practice area at a position below that damaged by the cameras, in order to guide the movements of an individual practicing tennis swings.05-26-2011
