20110289543VIDEO STREAMING SYSTEM INCLUDING A FAST CHANNEL CHANGE MECHANISM - A video streaming system including a fast channel change mechanism includes a digital video stream server that may generate and transmit a multicast video stream for each of a number of digital television channels. The system may include a digital television receiver that may receive the multicast video stream. The digital video stream server may transmit to the digital television receiver a unique unicast video stream for a selected channel in response to receiving a channel change request. The digital video stream server may further transmit as a first packet of the unicast video stream, a random access point that occurred prior to a first transmitted successive video content packet of the multicast video stream for the selected channel. The digital television receiver may receive and decode successive packets of video content of the unicast stream for the selected channel upon receiving the random access point.11-24-2011
20110289544VIDEO STREAMING SYSTEM INCLUDING A FAST CHANNEL CHANGE MECHANISM - A video stream server transmits a multicast stream for a number of digital television channels, and a digital television receiver receives the multicast stream. The video stream server may transmit to the television receiver a unique unicast stream for the selected channel at a rate that is faster than a multicast stream live stream rate in response to a channel change request for a selected channel. The video stream server may further transmit as a first packet of the unicast stream, a random access point (RAP) that occurred prior to a current packet of video content of a multicast stream. The digital television receiver may send the RAP for decoding and display upon receipt, and store to the memory unit a number of successive packets corresponding to the multicast stream for the selected channel subsequent to receiving and storing the successive packets corresponding to the unicast stream.11-24-2011

20090173428Precision Lamination of Multilayered Structures - This document describes the methodology for laminating layers of converted materials to form a precision laminated multilayered structure. With this methodology the pattern in the next layer to be laminated to create the multilayered structure can be adjusted based upon first or prior layer that the next layer is to be laminated to. The next layer will then be precisely aligned to the first or prior layers creating a precision laminated multilayer structure.07-09-2009

20100320654TAP HOLE PLUG GUN - The embodiments of the invention relate to a tap hole plug gun for metallurgical furnaces, having a pressure cylinder for receiving the plugging compound, which has a closable filling opening for the plugging compound, and having a plugging piston for pressing the plugging compound out from a mouthpiece of the pressure cylinder pressed against the tap hole of a furnace. The pivotable safety flap for closing the filling opening of the pressure cylinder for the plugging compound is equipped with a stop, which is pivoted into the cylinder chamber of the pressure cylinder upon opening of the flap to decelerate an unintentional forward stroke of the plugging piston for pre-compression and expulsion of the plugging compound, and is pivoted out of the cylinder chamber upon closing of the safety flap.12-23-2010

20100170557High Efficiency Solar Cell With Surrounding Silicon Scavenger Cells - This invention relates to an improved high efficiency solar cell. The improvement comprises the addition of one or more silicon cells to surround at least a portion of the active region of the solar cell. Preferably, the silicon cells completely surround the active region of the solar cell. The silicon cells act as scavenger cells to absorb light that would otherwise not be absorbed by other components of the solar cell and to convert that energy to electricity.07-08-2010

20090299220Biopsy Device Having Specimen Length Adjustment - A biopsy device having a sample size control assembly for selecting the specimen size to be collected. The sample size control assembly includes a rotatable nose on the exterior of the biopsy device for actuating the operation of the sample size control assembly. A needle assembly of the biopsy device can extend through the rotatable nose. A tip protector can be coupled to the sample size control assembly, and can be engaged by a user to operate the sample size control assembly. Also disclosed is a method for making a biopsy device, including coupling a tip protector to a sample size control assembly.12-03-2009

20090093714APPARATUS FOR THE PERCUTANEOUS MARKING OF A LESION - A biopsy marking apparatus for placing a radiopaque marker at the location of a percutaneous biopsy. The biopsy marking apparatus comprises an introducer in combination with a radiopaque marker. The introducer ejects the radiopaque marker at the location of the biopsy. The introducer is configured to completely eject the radiopaque marker and prevent it from being subsequently drawn into the introducer as the introducer is removed from the biopsied tissue mass. The radiopaque marker has enhanced radiopaque characteristics and enhanced non-migration characteristics.04-09-2009
20100298696SELF-CONTAINED, SELF-PIERCING, SIDE-EXPELLING MARKING APPARATUS - A marking apparatus includes a rigid cannula having a peripheral wall forming a lumen that carries an imaging marker, a proximal end coupled to a handle, a lateral opening in the peripheral wall that is open to the lumen, and a closed-off distal portion having a ramp adjacent the lumen. The closed-off distal portion extends distally from the ramp to terminate at a tissue piercing pointed tip. The ramp of the rigid cannula is curved to transition from the peripheral wall of the rigid cannula to the lateral opening of the rigid cannula. The ramp of the rigid cannula is adapted to engage the distal end of the stylet as the stylet is advanced through the lumen of the rigid cannula to guide the distal end of the stylet to a position to substantially close off the lateral opening of the rigid cannula having the tissue piercing tip.11-25-2010
