20090079179MODULAR FILING SYSTEM - A binder for holding documents is disclosed. The binder has a spine with a pair of cover flaps attached to each side of the spine. Attached to the spine is a latching device, also referred to as a locking device, that includes a first retaining member, a latching member, and a second retaining member. The first and second retaining members are parallel to each other and extend perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the spine. The binder is configured to hold a plurality of document modules, each of which hold a set of documents, which are flexible sheets of material, such as paper or plastic. Each module has first and second ends. The first end is contoured to mate with a portion of an external profile of the first retaining member. The second end attaches to the second retaining member. The latching member moves between a latched position where it engages the first end of the module and an unlatched position where it is not engaged to the first end of said module.03-26-2009

20090101605RESILIENT ROD FEATURE IN HANGING FILE FOLDER - A hanging file folder for mounting to a pair of spaced apart rails is disclosed. The file folder has a first and second rod with a pair of hook portions on opposing ends thereof for engaging the pair of spaced apart rails. The file folder body has first and second walls forming a pocket for holding materials therein, and is assembled such that the pocket is suspended between the first and second rods. At least one of the first and second rods includes a resilient structure for permitting at least one of the hook portions to move longitudinally and adjust an effective length of its rod for accommodating variances in the angle at which folders are mounted on the rails. The resilient structure may include a tension spring, for example. The hook portions may be movably mounted to the rod and may include the resilient mechanism.04-23-2009
20090178320FILING DEVICE WITH RETRACTABLE TABS - A filing device having retractable tabs is disclosed. The tabs are movable between a retracted position and an extended position, such as to selectively position tabs that are extended along an edge of a folder or divider.07-16-2009
20110215135TWO-POSITION TAB - A tabbing apparatus is provided that includes a pocket and a tab element disposed within the pocket in a retracted position. The tab element includes an indexing segment configured for protruding from the pocket in an extended position as a tab and for being received within the pocket in the retracted position, an anchor portion attached to the pocket, and an intermediate portion connecting the anchor portion and indexing segment and configured for folding to allow the indexing segment to move between the retracted position and the extended position. The indexing segment is configured for displaying writing thereon for indexing a file.09-08-2011
