20090132164SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTELLIGENT TURNING OF KALMAN FILTERS FOR INS/GPS NAVIGATION APPLICATIONS - Disclosed is a reinforcement learning technique for online tuning of integration filters of navigation systems needing a priori tuning parameters, such as Kalman Filters and the like. The method includes receiving GNSS measurements from the GNSS unit of the navigation system; and IMU measurements from IMU of the navigation system. The method further includes providing a priori tuning parameters to tune the integration filter of the navigation system. The method further includes processing the GNSS and IMU measurements using the tuned integration filter to compute a position estimate and updating the a priori turning parameters based on the computer position estimate.05-21-2009
20100198511Portable Navigation System - A portable navigation module and its method of operation are disclosed for seamlessly providing navigation and positioning information to a user. The module comprises: means, such as a GPS receiver, for receiving a first set of navigational information from an external source, such as satellites; and an inertial sensor unit for generating a second set of navigational information at the module. The navigational information is used by a processor programmed with a core algorithm, to identify the mode of conveyance algorithm and an orientation or misalignment algorithm. The algorithm utilizes the navigational information, aided by the mode of conveyance information and the orientation information, to produce a filtered navigation solution (which comprises position, velocity and attitude). The solution is suitably displayed, preferably on a detachable display unit.08-05-2010

20080266160SELECTING AN ACCESS POINT ACCORDING TO A MEASURE OF RECEIVED SIGNAL QUALITY - A method, an apparatus for inclusion in a wireless station, and a computer readable storage medium for operation in a wireless station. The method includes received data from at least one remote station and determining an EVM measure from samples of the received data. If the remote station(s) is/are access point(s), the station selects an access point for association according to criteria that include the measure of the EVM from the remote station.10-30-2008

20100088775METHODS OF MODULATING EPITHELIAL-MESENCHYMAL TRANSITION AND MESENCHYMAL-EPITHELIAL TRANSITION IN CELLS AND AGENTS USEFUL FOR THE SAME - The present invention relates generally to the fields of treatment, prophylaxis and diagnosis of cell-based and fibrotic conditions in animals including mammals. More particularly, the present invention contemplates the use of agents which modulate epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) processes and mesenchymal-epithelial transition (MET) processes and hence are useful in the treatment of a range of conditions including inhibiting metastasis of solid tumors and the development of fibrosis, treating metastatic disease and in promoting wound healing. Diagnostic protocols to assess EMT and MET or its stage of development also form part of the present invention. The EMT and MET modulating agents are also useful in regulating gene expression and, hence, represent useful therapeutic and research tools.04-08-2010
