20090172386Situation Sensitive Memory Performance - The present invention presents a non-volatile memory system that adapts its performance to one or more system related situation. If a situation occurs where the memory will require more than the allotted time for completing an operation, the memory can switch from its normal operating mode to a high performance mode in order to complete the operation quickly enough. Conversely, if a situation arises where reliability could be an issue (such as partial page programming), the controller could switch to a high reliability mode. In either case, once the trigging system situation has returned to normal, the memory reverts to the normal operation. The detection of such situations can be used both for programming and data relocation operations. An exemplary embodiment is based on firmware programmable performance.07-02-2009

20110185251SYSTEM AND METHOD TO CORRECT DATA ERRORS USING A STORED COUNT OF BIT VALUES - In a particular embodiment, at a controller coupled to a memory array, a method includes receiving an indication that a first group of data bits read from the memory array includes errors that are uncorrectable by an error correction coding (ECC) engine. A count of the first group of data bits having a particular bit value may be compared to a prior count of data bits having the particular bit value. In response to determining that the count exceeds the prior count, a bit of the first group of data bits that has the particular bit value and that corresponds to a same memory cell as a corrected data bit of a second group of data bits is identified. A value of the identified bit of the first group may be changed to generate an adjusted group of data bits. The adjusted group of data bits may be provided to the ECC engine.07-28-2011

20080257574Goal Plow Technology (GPT) - The GOAL PLOW TECHNOLOGY (GPT) is an agricultural method, with great impact on the physical and biological behavior of the ground. GPT makes horizontal cuts in the soil, without inverting the soil's layers. GPT achieves this by following the terrain's contours as originally formed by Nature. GPT's angles and devices successfully move the soil in the opposite direction of the earth's gravity. GPT is adaptable to any kind of soil, for cultivation or tillage, and can easily be used by itself, or used in combination with other farming systems. The presently existing agricultural implements destroy the natural structure of the soil. As their use diminishes, GPT will yield maximum benefits. In addition, GPT is the ideal technology for organic food production, as it favors the accumulation of biomass at the ground's level. GPT helps to lessen the greenhouse effect on planet earth, this in turn, produces a great impact on the environment and on better human health; thereby, having the desired effect of turning into reality the ultimate purpose of acquiring healthy foods at affordable prices.10-23-2008

20090177876AUTOMATED PROCESSOR GENERATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DESIGNING A CONFIGURABLE PROCESSOR - A system for generating processor hardware supports a language for significant extensions to the processor instruction set, where the designer specifies only the semantics of the new instructions and the system generates other logic. The extension language provides for the addition of processor state, including register files, and instructions that operate on that state. The language also provides for new data types to be added to the compiler to represent the state added. It allows separate specification of reference semantics and instruction implementation, and uses this to automate design verification. In addition, the system generates formatted instruction set documentation from the language specification.07-09-2009

20080244471SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CUSTOMIZING AN EXISTING PROCESSOR DESIGN HAVING AN EXISTING PROCESSOR INSTRUCTION SET ARCHITECTURE WITH INSTRUCTION EXTENSIONS - An automated processor design tool uses a description of customized processor instruction set extensions in a standardized language to develop a configurable definition of a target instruction set, a Hardware Description Language description of circuitry necessary to implement the instruction set, and development tools such as a compiler, assembler, debugger and simulator which can be used to develop applications for the processor and to verify it. Implementation of the processor circuitry can be optimized for various criteria such as area, power consumption, speed and the like. Once a processor configuration is developed, it can be tested and inputs to the system modified to iteratively optimize the processor implementation. By providing a constrained domain of extensions and optimizations, the process can be automated to a high degree, thereby facilitating fast and reliable development.10-02-2008

20080270943COLOR AND SYMBOL CODED VISUAL CUES FOR RELATING SCREEN ITEMS TO EACH OTHER - Described is a system and a computer program product for visually delineating a relationship between diverse, but related graphical objects in a graphical user interface. An icon that has specified color scheme is associated with the diverse, but related but graphical objects. When one of the related graphical objects is displayed, the icon is displayed within the displayed graphical object. The persistence of the icon with the specified color scheme in the displayed graphical objects allows them to be recognized as related. In a particular instance, the icon is displayed with each graphical object in a series of graphical objects that represent an evolution of progression of development.10-30-2008

20090092616ZNF206: A Novel Regulator of Embryonic Stem Cell Self-renewal and Pluripotency - We have identified ZNF206, a novel repressor of human embryonic stem cell (hESC) differentiation. Repressing extra-embryonic endoderm development preserves the pluripotent state of human embryonic stem cells, and, conversely downregulating expression of ZNF206 in hESCs causes them to upregulate the expression of genes associated with the extra-embryonic endodermal lineage, down-regulate genes associated with the pluripotent state, and may lead to the further emergence of genes associated with even more differentiated lineages and phenotypes.04-09-2009

20100094587SLEEVE CONE QUALITY MEASUREMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD - A metrology system for measuring a cone angle, a cone straightness, and a cone quality of a sample and method of using the metrology system are disclosed. The system includes a rotary stage, one or more workpiece fixtures that hold the samples in the rotary stage, and a number of different sized measurement devices. The measuring devices are positioned next to the rotary stage and measure the samples using contact. The rotary stage is free to rotate when the measuring devices are in a non-measuring state. The invention also includes a processor that collects data from the measurement devices and calculates the cone angle, the cone straightness, and the cone quality of each sample based on the data.04-15-2010
20100094588SHAFT CONE CROWN MEASUREMENT SYSTEM AND METHODOLOGY - Aspects include metrology methods and systems for determining characteristics of conical shaft portions, such as angle of taper and crown height. In an example, a metrology system includes a fixture for supporting a workpiece. The fixture provides for translation in a longitudinal dimension, and rotation about an axis of symmetry. The system may include a sensor mounted for scanning lines including sections of the workpiece as well as control logic for coordinating translation of the workpiece to provide for an approximately constant ratio of longitudinal translation and lines scanned during scanning operations. The system may include image logic for assembling an image from image data generated during each scanning operation, edge detection logic for detecting an edge shape in each assembled image, and slope and crown height calculation logic for calculating a slope and a crown height of each of the detected edge shapes.04-15-2010

20110246422CONSOLIDATION OF PATCH TRANSFORMATIONS FOR DATABASE REPLICATION - Embodiments of the invention provide for applying modifications to database instances in a way that allows some of instances to be modified without requiring that all of the instances be modified. Patching less than all of a plurality of replicated database instances can comprise applying a patch to a first version of a table in a first database instance. The first version of the table may be replicated in a corresponding first version of the table in a second database instance. Applying the patch to the first version of the table in the first database instance can result in a second version of the table in the first database instance. Transformations caused by applying the patch to the first version of the table in the first database instance can be consolidated based on differences between the first version of the table and the second version of the table.10-06-2011
