20090243158METHOD AND DEVICE FOR FORMING ARTICLES FROM FOAMING POLYMERS BY USING MICROWAVE RADIATION - The invention relates to producing articles from granulated foaming polymers and from compositions based thereon, in particular, to a device for forming articles with a limited temperature produced by a heat energy released by water exposed to the action of microwave radiation, which is subsequently used for drying said articles. The inventive method for forming articles from foaming polymers and compositions based thereon consists in forming articles using a heat energy released by water exposed to the action of microwave radiation at a temperature equal to or less than 170° C., wherein said temperature is attained, controlled and limited by adjusting a vapour pressure in a forming chamber. The inventive device for carrying out said method comprises a forming chamber, which is made of a microwave transparent material, filled with the mixture of pre-foamed or granulated foaming polymer or a composition based thereon with water and is placed in a microwave radiation producing channel, and a unit for equalising a pressure in said forming chamber. The forming chamber and the body thereof made of a microwave non-transparent material are provided with air holes, which are also used for connecting the forming chamber to the pressure equalising unit. The air hole diameter is minimised in such a way that the microwave radiation is unable to penetrate outside of the forming chamber. Said invention makes it possible to improve the operation quality characteristics, extend a range of produced articles, simplify a production process and to reduce the number of process machines. The inventive device and the articles produced thereby exhibit improved application properties.10-01-2009

A subset of the electromagnetic field data is identified that comprises data obtained for source-receiver separations greater than a selected threshold offset. The threshold offset is chosen so that data beyond this offset are characteristic of magnetotelluric data. Thus the subset of data is then processed in accordance with a first technique to obtain information on the background strata configuration. Other electromagnetic field data obtained for source-receiver separations less than the threshold offset may then be processed in accordance with a second technique to obtain information on any subterranean resistive or conductive body within the background strata configuration.03-26-2009

The heparin-nitroxide derivatives are useful as therapeutic or diagnostic agents. This invention further concerns novel methods for the production of the heparin-nitroxide agents, and methods of their uses for specifically targeting and labelling of biological vessels. The inventions also suggest the uses of the heparin-nitroxide derivatives for treatment of oxidative stress-mediated diseases. Furthermore, the heparin-nitroxide derivatives according to the present invention are in particular useful for electron paramagnetic resonance imaging (EPRI), for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and for preservation of biological transplants.12-09-2010
