20080215742METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DYNAMICALLY ADJUSTING RESOURCES ASSIGNED TO PLURALITY OF CUSTOMERS, FOR MEETING SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENTS (SLAs) WITH MINIMAL RESOURCES, AND ALLOWING COMMON POOLS OF RESOURCES TO BE USED ACROSS PLURAL CUSTOMERS ON A DEMAND BASIS - A method (and system) for managing and controlling allocation and de-allocation of resources based on a guaranteed amount of resource and additional resources based on a best effort for a plurality of customers, includes dynamically allocating server resources for a plurality of customers, such that the resources received by a customer are dynamically controlled and the customer receives a guaranteed minimum amount of resources as specified under a service level agreement (SLA). The best effort is defined in the SLA as a range of service to be provided to the customer if server resources are currently available.09-04-2008

20090064272DATABASE AUTHORIZATION RULES AND COMPONENT LOGIC AUTHORIZATION RULES AGGREGATION - Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for aggregating database and component logic authorization rules in a multi-tier application. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for aggregating database and component logic authorization rules in a multi-tier application system can include aggregating role-based authorization rules for both a persistence layer and a logic layer of a multi-tier application in a unified policy, distributing the unified policy to both the persistence layer and the logic layer of the multi-tier application, transforming the unified policy into respectively a set of role based permissions for the persistence layer and a set of role based permissions for the logic layer, and applying the set of role based permissions for the persistence layer in the persistence layer, and the set of role based permissions for the logic layer in the logic layer of the multi-tier application.03-05-2009

20080215358METHOD, SYSTEM, AND STORAGE MEDIUM FOR IMPLEMENTING BUSINESS PROCESS MODULES - Exemplary embodiments include a method for implementing business process modules for performing business process modeling. The method includes identifying tasks required in order to achieve a capability and designing a process module for enabling the capability. The designing includes interconnecting logic flow among the tasks resulting in an optimized, repeatable pattern of logically transformed inputs to outputs required for achieving the capability. The method also includes selecting and associating attributes to the tasks. The attributes are selected from categories including: information technology component services, data, operational business rules, roles, and measurements. The method further includes defining and associating metadata with the process module. The metadata describes functional capabilities provided by the process module and business and technical contexts into which the process module is used.09-04-2008

20080208670METHOD, SYSTEM, AND STORAGE MEDIUM FOR PERFORMING BUSINESS PROCESS MODELING - Exemplary embodiments include a method for performing business process modeling. The method includes identifying capabilities, activities, and requirements associated with a business problem or an opportunity. The activities are operable for implementing the capabilities and the capabilities are operable for resolving the business problem or exploiting the opportunity. For each of the activities, the method includes selecting at least one corresponding process module that includes listings of attributes applicable to the activities, selecting at least one of the attributes from the listings, and defining transition artifacts for integrating selected process modules. The method also includes compiling the transition artifacts, selected attributes, and selected activities with corresponding process modules, and generating a business process model as a result of the compilation.08-28-2008
20100228858METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR DYNAMIC ALLOCATION OF SERVERS TO A PLURALITY OF CUSTOMERS TO MAXIMIZE THE REVENUE OF A SERVER FARM - A method and structure for dynamic allocation of servers to customers in a server farm which supports a flexible contract structure such that the total revenue of the farm is maximized. The invention creates a resource allocation plan based on a long term forecast for the server farm, taking into account traffic, number of servers, customers' contracts and revenue optimization algorithms. The plan is then modified as indicated by short term forecasting using currently monitored load metrics to reallocate to maximize revenue for particular time periods.09-09-2010

20090108561CURB CLIMBING WHEELCHAIR ATTACHMENT - A curb climbing wheelchair system having left and right side attachments are designed to be attached to left and right side portions, respectively, of a standard wheelchair to enable a wheelchair occupant to climb a curb, bump or other obstruction without the aid of another individual. Each attachment includes a ramp extending from a telescoping arm that is designed to be attached, via a clamping system, to one side of the wheelchair. When not in use, the ramps are folded and stowed away on the sides of the wheelchair. During use, the ends of the ramps are placed on the curb to allow the wheelchair occupant to roll up the curb. To retrieve the ramps (now disposed behind the wheelchair), the wheelchair occupant moves the telescoping arms, if necessary with the aid of an attached circular handle, to lift the ramps thus allowing the wheelchair occupant to grab the ramps. The retrieved ramps then are stowed away until needed.04-30-2009
