20110013745INTRAORAL X-RAY SENSOR WITH EMBEDDED STANDARD COMPUTER INTERFACE - An intraoral x-ray sensor with embedded standard computer interface. The sensor includes a data transfer cable with improved mechanical strength and heat transferring properties. The cable is quad-twisted USB cable and includes two data lines, a ground line, and fillers twisted within a metallic sheath, e.g., a metal braided shield. The cable is symmetrically organized about a centerline. The symmetric cable has an improved life due to the ability to withstand mechanical stress (e.g., rotational stress). The sensor includes a processor and a housing with an inner metallization layer. The sheath is coupled to the inner metallization layer to transfer heat generated by the processor from the inner metallization layer to the sheath.01-20-2011
20110013746TRIGGERING OF INTRAORAL X-RAY SENSOR USING PIXEL ARRAY SUB-SAMPLING - Automatic triggering of an intraoral x-ray sensor used in a dental x-ray imaging system. The intraoral sensor has an array of pixels. The array of pixels has a plurality of lines of pixels, and each of the pixels generates an electrical signal correlated to x-ray radiation that impinges that pixel. An electronic control unit is connected to the intraoral sensor to receive electric signals from the array of pixels. The electronic control unit destructively reads pixel clusters in one or more of the plurality of lines of pixels, each of the pixel clusters located at a perimeter of the array of pixels. The electronic control unit is configured to generate a dose-correlated signal based on the signals from each of the pixel clusters in each of the one or more lines of pixels and initiate capture of an image generated with information from each of the pixels in the array of pixels, when the combined signal exceeds a predetermined threshold.01-20-2011

20090122655TOOTHED WHEEL, CORRESPONDING GEAR SYSTEM AND CLOCK MOVEMENT, FOR A TIMEPIECE - The present disclosure describes a toothed wheel for a gear system of a clock movement, comprising a plate provided with a toothing on its periphery, said toothing comprising a plurality of teeth, each of which has a dedendum extending from said plate and in the continuation of which an addendum is formed. Each of the teeth of the wheel is designed in such a way that its dedendum has a width smaller than that of its addendum and, preferably, a length equal to or greater than that of the addendum. It is moreover provided that the addendum has a tip located on a radius (R) of the plate and from which there extend, on both sides of the radius, a first portion, which is substantially rectilinear, to a distance from said radius which is greater than half the width of the dedendum, then a second portion, which is concave, joining the first portion to the dedendum. It is thus possible to use a gear system comprising two wheels of this type arranged in engagement with one another, and also a mechanism which makes it possible to displace at least one of these wheels with respect to the other so as to modify the distance between the axes, without thereby compromising the engagement.05-14-2009
20090129209WATCH MOVEMENT OF THE FLY-BACK CHRONOGRAPH TYPE AND TIMEPIECE PROVIDED WITH SUCH A MOVEMENT - A description is given of a watch movement of the fly-back chronograph type comprising a frame carrying connected a finishing gear train capable of being train kinematically to a chronograph gear train comprising at least one chronograph runner having a chronograph spindle intended to carry a first member for displaying seconds. The movement comprises a fly-back runner coaxial with the chronograph runner and having a fly-back spindle intended to carry a second member for displaying seconds. The fly-back spindle is hollow and passed through by the chronograph spindle, the fly-back runner being mounted rotationally with reference to the frame by means of a bearing. Among other advantages, this construction makes it possible to isolate the chronograph runner from the fly-back runner.05-21-2009
20090161492CHRONOGRAPH MECHANISM, TIMEPIECE MOVEMENT AND TIMEPIECE COMPRISING SUCH A MECHANISM - The invention relates to a chronograph mechanism comprising at least one minutes counter and one hours counter which are designed to be located both on the same side of the plate, first and second resetting members, each having a bearing surface and being able to pivot between a low position, in which each bearing surface cooperates with the periphery of a resetting cam of one of the counters, and a high position, in which each bearing surface is located at a distance from the corresponding cam. The mechanism comprises retaining means for keeping each of the resetting members in its high position, comprising a first retaining member acting directly on a first resetting member and able to be released in response to an action by a user, and a second retaining member acting directly on the second resetting member and able to be released in response to a pivoting of the first resetting member in the direction of its low position.06-25-2009

20110237663Method for treating Philadelphia-negative myeloproliferative syndromes - A method for treating Philadelphia-negative myeloproliferative syndromes (polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia or idiopathic myelofibrosis) which comprises administering diethyl-[6-(4-hydroxycarbamoyl-phenylcarbamoyloxymethyl)-naphthalen-2-yl-methyl]-ammonium chloride or other pharmaceutically acceptable salts and/or solvates thereof, in combination with N-hydroxyurea to a patient in need of such a treatment, is described. The diethyl-[6-(4-hydroxycarbamoyl-phenylcarbamoyloxymethyl)-naphthalen-2-yl-methyl]-ammonium chloride in combination with N-hydroxyurea induces positive therapeutic responses in patients refractory to the N-hydroxyurea monotherapy and/or whose therapeutic response to monotherapy with the same dose of N-hydroxyurea is unsatisfactory.09-29-2011

20080199061Quantitative Single Image-Based Magnetization Transfer Weighted Imaging Using an Inter-Subject Normalization Reference Within the Image - Disclosed is a system and method for generating quantitative imagery of demyelination in the spinal cord. The method includes acquiring a magnetization transfer weighted (MTw) MR image of the spinal column, identifying a reference region of interest within the image corresponding to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), averaging the signal intensity corresponding to the reference region of interest, and computing a ratio, on a voxel-by-voxel basis, of the signal intensity of each voxel by the averaged reference signal intensity. In doing so, normalized MTw images are obtained such that detrimental artifacts such as motion-induced errors, coil loading, and RF coil sensitivity variations are obviated.08-21-2008
