20090095573Forklift strike plate attachment - An apparatus and method directed to modifying conventional forklift trucks to reduce or eliminate damage to pallets. A strike plate of sufficient width is secured to the upper and lower carriage rails of a forklift between the two forks of the forklift, positioned on the carriage rails such that the strike plate engages a structural member of the pallet. Damage from overtravel of the forks into the pallet is prevented because the protective strike plate will cause the whole pallet to move before the forks have the chance to rip up the first couple of deck boards on the top of the pallet. The strike plate is attached to forklifts having an upper carriage rail and a lower carriage rail. A permanently affixed latch is located near the top of the strike plate to engage the upper carriage bar, and a latch piece separable from the strike plate is provided to affix the bottom of the strike plate to the lower carriage rail. The means for securing the strike plate to the upper and lower carriage rails is completely accessible from the front of the forklift, and does not require any modifications on or to the rear of the upper or lower carriage rails.04-16-2009

20110079405Agricultural Implement Walking Beam Assembly - An implement wheel assembly includes two individual wheel arms tied together by a linkage that pivots about a fore-and-aft extending axis at a location above the wheels and generally above the plane of the implement frame. The linkage constrains the wheel arms to pivot in opposite vertical directions as the implement moves over irregular ground surfaces to improve weight distribution on the wheels. Spring structure may be interposed between the ends of a pivoting linkage and the individual wheel arms to lower frame impact forces. The structure allows two wheels to be placed side-by-side with their axes generally aligned and reduces under-frame hardware to improve crop and soil and trash flow.04-07-2011

20100310308Implement Frame Tube Joint with Weldable Connector - A tube over tube joint for an implement frame includes a self-fixturing weldable connector positioned between upper and lower tubes. Standard fillet welds connect the tubes to the connector. A unitary casting can be used made from material selected to optimize load transfer between the top and bottom tubes to improve the fatigue life of the joint. The casting is self-fixturing so the top tubes can be located by simply placing in the casting on the lower tubes. A tube end connector provides fixturing and weld surfaces for butt joints in planar frames. Outwardly extended weld edges on the connector increase resistance to parallelogramming of the frame.12-09-2010

20100135047High-Voltage Modulator System - A high-power modulation system includes drive circuitry that receives input signals from the signal source via a series of transformers. The drive circuitry amplifies the input signals and provides the resulting amplified signals to the high-power switch. The switch includes a series of stacked switching elements, each with a control terminal, first and second current-handling terminals, and feedback path extending between the first current-handling terminal and the control terminal. The feedback paths work in concert to turn the switches on and off together to prevent excessive voltage from developing across one or a subset of the switching elements. The feedback path includes a resistor that dampens the bandwidth of the feedback path to reduce turn-off and turn-on ringing and oscillation. The damping resistor may be coupled in series with a diode that holds charge against the control terminal of the switching element.06-03-2010

20110043535COLORIZATION OF BITMAPS - A bitmap may be transformed from one color scheme to another. In one example, the bitmap is used as part of a user interface (UI), and the colorization is performed to reflect a user's (or some other entity's) choice of color scheme. To perform the colorization, a bitmap may be converted from the red-green-blue (RGB) color space to the hue-saturation-lightness (HSL) color space. The hue may then be rotated toward the selected color scheme. Lightness and alpha (opacity) may be gamma-adjusted toward the selected color scheme. Saturation may be linearly adjusted upward or downward in the direction of the selected color scheme. The transformed HSL representation of the image may then be converted from the HSL space back to the RGB space. The new RGB bitmap may then be used to render one or more UI elements.02-24-2011

20100133137EXPANDABLE COOLER SLEEVE - A sleeve for encircling a conventional ice chest provides opposed panels for supporting indicia. The first end of each of the panels are interconnected with a first expandable member and the second end of each of the panels are interconnected with a second expandable member. Upon mounting of the sleeve on the ice chest, the expandable members are expanded and subsequently contract about the ice chest to retain the sleeve in place. Openings in the first and second expandable members accommodate pass through of handles attached to the ice chest. Because of the first and second expandable members, the sleeve can be mounted on ice chests of different girth and yet be retained in place.06-03-2010
20100133326WRAPPER FOR AN ICE CHEST - An expandable wrapper for an ice chest includes fastening elements at opposed ends for overlapping and securing the ends to one another. The wrapper is of expandable material and in combination with the fastening means will accommodate ice chests having a large range of girth dimensions. Preferably, the material is receptive to printing of words, logos and designs to suit a user's preferences and to personalize the wrapped ice chest. In a variant, the wrapper may be a sleeve slidable mounted on the ice chest and of expandable/elastic material to accommodate the difference in girth between the bottom and the upper end of the ice chest as well as to accommodate ice chests of different sizes.06-03-2010
