20090028824SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING DRUGS - A patch pump device generally includes at least one fluid source, a fluid communicator, and an electrochemical actuator. The fluid communicator is in fluid communication with the fluid source. The electrochemical actuator is operative to cause fluid to be delivered from the fluid source into the fluid communicator.01-29-2009
20100240757SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING A FLUID DRUG - Devices and methods for distributing a fluid, e.g., a fluid drug, are disclosed. Fluid-drug distribution can be advantageously utilized to help patients suffering from a disorder that affect fine motor skill usage, e.g., Parkinson's Disease. Some aspects are directed to dosing containers that are adapted to distribute one or more selected dosages of fluid from the container. In some instances, the containers are adapted to be operable by patients with hindered fingertip motor control to help dispense a fluid-drug, such as a fluid including carbidopa and levodopa. Other aspects are directed to a kit for distributing a fluid drug that can be stored with a longer shelf life in solid form. Also discussed herein are methods for distributing a fluid drug for treating a disorder such as Parkinson's Disease.09-23-2010
20110098676SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING DRUGS - A patch pump device generally includes at least one fluid source, a fluid communicator, and an electrochemical actuator. 20110275997SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING A THERAPEUTIC AGENT - Devices, methods, and kits for delivering a therapeutic agent to a patient are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises a reservoir for containing a fluid, a first actuator, a transfer structure, and a second actuator. The first actuator has a first configuration and a second configuration and is configured to exert a first force on the reservoir when moved from its first configuration to its second configuration such that a first volume of fluid within the reservoir is communicated out of the fluid reservoir. The transfer structure is disposed between the first actuator and the reservoir and has a surface configured to engage the reservoir such that the first force exerted by the first actuator is distributed across a surface of the reservoir engaged by the transfer structure. The second actuator has a first configuration and a second configuration and is configured to exert a second force on the reservoir when the second actuator is moved from its first configuration to its second configuration such that a second volume of fluid within the reservoir is communication out of the fluid reservoir.11-10-2011

20090030462Segmental Orthopaedic device for spinal elongation and for treatment of Scoliosis - An orthopaedic device to realign bone segments comprises first and second attachment members and a spacer member. The first attachment member is attached to a first rib bone or first transverse process of a vertebra. The second attachment member is attached to a second rib bone or second transverse process of a vertebra adjacent to the first rib bone or the first transverse process. The spacer member is positioned between the first and second attachment members. The spacer member provides distraction between the first and second rib bones or transverse processes to realign the rib bones. The spacer member is releasably connected to the first and second attachment members. The attachment members comprise a clamp and screw combination.01-29-2009
20110137353SEGMENTAL ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE FOR SPINAL ELONGATION AND FOR TREATMENT OF SCOLIOSIS - An orthopaedic device to realign bone segments comprises first and second attachment members and a strut or spacer member. The first attachment member is attached to a first rib bone or first transverse process or first lamina of a vertebra. The second attachment member is attached to a second rib bone or second transverse process or second lamina of a vertebra. The strut is positioned between the first and second attachment members. The strut is fixedly or releasably connected to the first and second attachment members to couple the first attachment member to the second attachment member. The strut provides distraction between the first and second rib bones or transverse processes to realign the rib bones. The attachment members comprise a clamp and screw combination.06-09-2011

20090148093ADJUSTABLE ANTIFRICTION BEARING ARRANGEMENT - A shaft is supported in a housing on the front and rear antifriction bearings that are mounted in opposition. The front bearing has an outer race provided with an external thread that engages an internal thread within the housing. That outer race is fitted with a locking ring that is engaged to turn the race and thereby bring the front and rear bearings to a desired setting. The locking ring has a flange that lies along a radially directed face of the housing, and once the bearings achieve a desired setting, a screw is extended through the flange and into the housing to secure the locking ring and the outer race against rotation.06-11-2009

20090235589BREAKAWAY ELEMENTS FOR A HORIZONTAL SIDE-MOVING DOOR - A horizontal side-moving door with a side-winding curtain or horizontally translating panel includes a breakaway brace that helps hold a relatively rigid leading edge of the curtain or panel in a substantially vertical orientation. Should a forklift accidentally strike the leading edge of the curtain or panel, a replaceable shear pin incorporated in the brace breaks away to release the leading edge, thus protecting the edge from damage. Although the shear pin can break into two or more pieces, the brace includes means for holding the pieces in place and preventing them from falling and hitting anything underneath the pin. Although with some limitations, the door is still operational even while the pin is broken.09-24-2009
20120018102FLEXIBLE INSULATED DOOR PANELS WITH INTERNAL BAFFLES - An example of a vertically operating door includes a flexible panel comprising two pliable sheets of material with a plurality of pads or mats of thermal insulation between the two sheets. In some examples, a plurality of horizontally elongate baffles made of pliable strips of material are installed between the two sheets. The baffles effectively divide one large interior volume between the sheets into more manageable smaller volumes or chambers. The baffles restrict the air between the sheets from being forced to the bottom of the panel as the panel ascends and bends across an overhead roller. Without the baffles and smaller chambers, the panel sheets in the area near the bottom of the panel would tend to bulge outward as the door opens.01-26-2012
