20090126405SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE ENVIRONMENT AROUND ONE OR MORE VESSELS IN A GLASS MANUFACTURING SYSTEM - A system and method are described herein that control the environment (e.g., oxygen, hydrogen, humidity, temperature, gas flow rate, pressure) around one or more vessels in a glass manufacturing system. In the preferred embodiment, the system includes a closed-loop control system and a capsule that are used to control the level of hydrogen around the exterior (non glass contact surface) of the vessel(s) so as to suppress the formation of gaseous inclusions and surface blisters in glass sheets. In addition, the closed-loop control system and capsule can be used to help cool molten glass while the molten glass travels from one vessel to another vessel in the glass manufacturing system. Moreover, the closed-loop control system and capsule can be used to maintain an atmosphere with minimal oxygen around the vessel(s) so as to reduce the oxidation of precious metals on the vessel(s).05-21-2009

20090076591Stent Design Allowing Extended Release of Drug and/or Enhanced Adhesion of Polymer to OD Surface - The invention is directed to mechanisms and methods that reduce the delamination of a therapeutic agent from a stent. The mechanisms include holes (channels, wells, and other hole configurations), protrusions, sintered metal cores, clamps/staples, pins, and stainless steel shields.03-19-2009
20090281615STENT WITH TABS AND HOLES FOR DRUG DELIVERY - A stent can include a tubular body, a plurality of circumferential serpentine bands, a plurality of connectors extending between immediately adjacent serpentine bands, and a plurality of tabs. The plurality of tabs include peak tabs and trough tabs. Each peak tab and each trough tab have a first end and a second end wherein only the first end is engaged to a serpentine band, each peak tab extends substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis from a peak on a serpentine band toward a peak on an immediately distal serpentine band. Each trough tab extends substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis from a trough on a serpentine band toward a trough on an immediately proximal serpentine band. Each serpentine band defines a plurality of holes and each tab defines a plurality of holes. The holes are constructed and arranged to contain a therapeutic agent11-12-2009
20100010618Overlapping Stent - A stent defines a plurality of holes with a therapeutic agent deposited therein and has a plurality of members where at least some of the members overlap when the stent is in the unexpanded state01-14-2010
20100292777Stent - An expandable stent has a plurality of expandable rings formed of a plurality of struts and at least one first connector interconnecting adjacent expandable rings. The plurality of struts include a first strut and the at least one first connector has a first arm. A first portion of the first arm is engaged to a first portion of the first strut so that the first portion of the first arm and the first portion of the first strut define a through hole.11-18-2010
20110066227Stent with Dynamic Drug Reservoirs - A stent having one or more beneficial agents which enhance the healing effect of the stent. The agent is positioned within a reservoir. The reservoir dynamically releases the agent when the stent is expanded. The reservoir makes use of various changes in stent shape during expansion to assure proper release of the agent. Agent release can be modulated at various points along the stent and with various rates of release. The reservoirs can also be cooperatively combined with features that enhance stent flexibility, structural integrity, and which prevent recoil.03-17-2011
20120004718Platinum Enhanced Alloy and Intravascular or Implantable Medical Devices Manufactured Therefrom - A platinum enhanced radiopaque alloy particularly suitable for manufacture of implantable and/or intravascular medical devices. A stent is one preferred medical device which is a generally tubular structure that is expandable upon implantation in a vessel lumen to maintain flow therethrough. The stent is formed from the alloy which has improved radiopacity relative to present utilized stainless steel alloys. This alloy preferably contains from about 2 wt. % to about 50 wt. % platinum; from about 11 wt. % to about 18 wt. % chromium; about 5 wt. % to about 12 wt. % nickel and at least about 15 wt. % iron.01-05-2012
